I am a dedicated therapist committed to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. My primary goal as a therapist is to create a safe and supportive environment to facilitate growth for each client. I have experience in treating those dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, behavioral issues, and family/marital conflict. Whether you're seeking strategies for parenting, navigating complex emotions, or finding balance in your life, I am here to provide compassionate and effective support.
I approach therapy with a warm, collaborative, and person-centered style, focusing on building genuine relationships that foster trust and growth. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and understood. I believe growth occurs through authentic connection and self-exploration, and I work alongside clients to help them recognize their strengths, gain insight into their experiences, and make meaningful changes in their lives. Before joining Therapy Today, I gained experience working with children, college students, adults, and older adults in a variety of settings. My background includes providing individual and group counseling, conducting psychological assessments, and supporting clients with concerns such as anxiety, stress, life transitions, and identity development. I have also worked with individuals with disabilities and facilitated an LGBTQ+ support group. These experiences have strengthened my ability to meet clients where they are and provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to their unique needs. Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and staying active. I’m passionate about continual learning and personal growth, and I often find inspiration through reading and creative outlets. I value meaningful connections and believe that authenticity and balance are essential both in and outside the therapy room. These experiences help me relate to clients with empathy and understanding as they navigate their own challenges and seasons of growth.
Hi there! I am so excited to sit with you and be present as you engage in the therapeutic process. Taking the walk to receive the care you deserve is often the hardest step, so I am excited to be here with you to cheer you through it! In this life, we face a whirlwind of different scenarios that may create ups and downs in our timeline. And even more often, our internal voice may guide us in a way that sets us back. Together, as we establish our therapeutic relationship, I will work with you to empower you and help you explore how to reach your full potential! As a growing counselor, I have been able to gain a breadth of different experiences throughout my education. Hailing from Western Michigan University, I have had experiences working with individuals with developmental disabilities (behavioral) and was fascinated by people’s different stories and how all of our domains in life affect us in so many different ways! As I embarked on the clinical route, I have had experience working in individual and group counseling settings. As a neurodivergent individual myself, I understand what it’s like to feel those struggles inside and outside of ourselves. I aim to create a space for you to have that voice, the tools, and structural pieces to bring to the outside world. In our work, I often explore from a CBT, DBT, ACT, person-centered, and/or humanistic perspective. I also integrate faith-based counseling, spirituality counseling, as well as mindfulness based practices to help navigate the intersection between physical and mental growth. I work with anyone in our space from ages 13-100+, offering both individual and, now, group services (please reach out for more info on group, if interested)! In this space, my biggest goal is to recognize, ensure, and promote your safety and comfort, and collaboratively create a plan tailored to your success and well-being with the right tools for you. I will act as the facilitator to your growth, where you will always be the expert. My clinical interests involve working with neurodivergent individuals (autism, ADHD), life transitions, self-identity, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger management, boundary-setting/communication, relationship issues, as well as trauma-focused work. I’m excited to meet with you and look forward to what’s to come!
“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” – George Eliot I approach therapy as a collaborative journey, one where I join you as a supportive partner in navigating life’s challenges. My fundamental belief is in your inherent resilience and capacity for growth; the therapeutic space I create is designed to be a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore your inner world and find your own answers. In the room, I am a warm, engaged, and authentic presence. I believe that the strength of our therapeutic relationship is paramount, and I strive to build a foundation of trust and mutual respect. My voice is empathetic yet direct, offering gentle guidance and insightful reflections to help you uncover patterns, gain new perspectives, and foster lasting change. I am there to ask the right questions, offer a fresh lens, and sometimes, simply to sit with you in quiet support. My style is best described as an integrative blend, primarily drawing from humanistic and person-centered principles. This means our sessions are always focused squarely on you, guided by your goals and pace. I also weave in techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help challenge unhelpful thought patterns and build practical coping skills and incorporate aspects of mindfulness to help you stay grounded and present. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Spring Arbor University, where I developed a strong foundation in clinical practice, mental health advocacy, and trauma-informed care. My professional experience includes working in community mental health, where I support individuals experiencing mental health crises in a highly structured and intensive care setting also providing case management, ensuring that the clients I provided service to have the best care possible. I also spent 12 years working in foster care, offering support to clients from diverse backgrounds as they worked through issues such as past trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am the mother of three children and the grandmother to two beautiful girls. I enjoy spending time with my family sharing food and laughter. I believe that we should not put time limits on our own personal journeys as I completed many life accomplishments later in life. My own personal experience has shown me that therapy can be life changing.
Life is filled with seasons that we don’t see coming. Some are beautiful and some make you feel like you have lost track of which way is up. Every day can feel like a battle. No matter where you are, my desire as a clinician is to come alongside you, or your child & family, as you navigate the challenges on your journey towards healing & deep, abiding peace. My goal is to create space for you or your child to experience the freedom that comes with the challenging work of growth and healing. Whether you are a new mother in need of a place to sit with a cup of coffee and feel supported through postpartum adjustment; a parent who longs to help their child cope with trauma, a foster parent desperate for space to process the demands of selflessly loving children who have experienced trauma; or if you are ready to heal from trauma of your own, my door is open. It is my sincere honor to come alongside you as you take this courageous step toward tangible and positive life change.
My primary goal in therapy is to create a nonjudgmental, safe space for expressing feelings and emotions. I am deeply committed to helping children aged 8 and older with issues related to school, peers, anxiety, executive functioning, and self-esteem through play therapy. Additionally, I enjoy supporting young adults as they navigate life transitions, depression, and anxiety. My approach is warm and compassionate, focusing on engaging children creatively (slime, books, games, etc!!) to foster enthusiasm and interest in their therapeutic journey. I am a dedicated therapist passionate about enhancing the well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults. Each client I have worked with has enriched my understanding of resilience, courage, and the importance of human connections. I am eager to use my skills to help young individuals not only overcome challenges but also thrive. If you’re looking for a therapist who truly cares about the well-being of young minds, please contact me.
I’m a firm believer that we are not meant to do life alone. Whether you’re adjusting to parenthood, grieving a loss, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or OCD—it’s my honor to provide you with space to simply be human. I don’t hold the belief that it’s my job to fix your problems. Even if it were, I never could—because I am not the expert on your life. You are. And while I have many valuable tools and perspectives to offer, I believe the most meaningful thing I can give you is space. Space to think. Space to express your thoughts. Space to sit with your feelings and actually feel them. It is in this kind of space that I believe transformative healing happens—where you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and what you need, of which burdens you can lay down, and which tools and resources you can pick up. In this space, I offer evidence-based therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, The Art of Holding, and Exposure and Response Prevention. It’s hard when your thoughts feel scary or when life changes bring more fear than joy. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay or figure it out alone. Whatever you’re navigating, I can help you develop skills to reduce distress, reconnect with yourself, and feel more grounded and whole.
