Go Inward, Gain Strength One of my strengths is meeting the person where they are in their lives. This has come naturally to me and has been reinforced throughout my career as a helping professional. It is incredibly powerful to work with my clients to create change and witness them build confidence in themselves. If someone is super motivated and ready to work through their stuff, I can do that. If someone isn’t there yet and they need to problem solve marriage issues and don’t want to dig into the past, I can support that too. Therapy with me is a collaborative process. You determine the pace, the goal, the direction. My passion is utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) as an intervention to help you go inward and find your solutions. You are the best expert in your life and I urge you to understand and trust your gut reaction. EMDR is an intervention that is particularly effective for helping individuals who have experienced distressing events; and there is strong data supporting the use of EMDR to alleviate symptoms of OCD, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and shifting negative core beliefs. My experience also includes working with individuals who have experienced trauma. This includes individuals who use or have used substances to cope. I have worked as an in-home therapist to children and families. This experience provided an up close look at the family system and the impact of trauma on that system. With Awareness, Comes Growth You can generate happiness and contentment from within yourself. It is possible to be calm and set boundaries with others. You can learn to identify the things that have shaped you and understand how this impacts your automatic responses. I work with clients to build their resilience and identify gaps in their strengths so they can face each day and each challenge with confidence. We can look back at recent patterns you have been facing and look at a variety of factors that may be impacting you such as genetics, family of origin, interpersonal relationships, eating habits, school stress, thought processes, trauma history, emotion regulation, coping skills, pressure felt externally and socially, and more. My mission is to walk alongside teenage and college-aged women, children, and families on their journey towards health and flourishing. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling that addresses the emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual facets of who we are. As a former student I understand the severe challenges college can bring. I am seeking to care for those struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, life transitions, and personal growth. I desire to be a light in the darkness and a source of hope and comfort for others in their own seasons of struggle. T Jackson is a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a specialized focus on alcohol use, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and oppositional defiance disorder. Educated at Wilkes Barre University, T Jackson also holds an educational doctorate from the University of Phoenix and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University. With a wealth of experience that includes roles in open heart critical care, acute care administration, and academia, T Jackson has taught in DNP and NP programs and has volunteered with the World Health Organization in Africa and supported Afghan refugees. Life is tough! I recognize and understand that sometimes life knocks us down or throws us a curve ball. Every now and then it can make it hard to get out of bed, ignoring our everyday responsibilities. Sometimes it can make us very anxious, worrying all the time if the decisions we’re making are the right ones. Making difficult transitions in life (i.e. what college to go to, what job to accept and am I in the right relationship) can be stressful. Therapy is a great opportunity to gain a new perspective, to increase self-esteem and to feel more confident in the decisions we are making, re-framing those automatic negative thoughts.

I work with individuals dealing with life transitions, medical related issues, mood and affective disorders, and marriage, parenting or family issues. I also have my Yoga Teacher Training Certification as well as completing my certifications in Maternal Mental Health and ADHD. My approach to counseling places an emphasis on the relationship between the client and counselor and the promotion of growth. When needed, I use a variety of structured and non-structured interventions to best meet the needs of the client. I utilize empirically supported techniques, including cognitive and behavioral interventions, that focus on the ways in which individuals think about and respond to events. These interventions allow clients to restructure their thinking, process events and modify behaviors in more adaptive ways. I use a narrative and solution focused approach to collaboratively work with clients to identify successful past solutions to problems and how these strengths can be implemented in future situations. Small changes in the way clients view themselves and their own abilities to solve problems will encourage solution-oriented patterns to reach future goals.
