Dr. Dietz's work as a psychologist is rooted in the belief that there is healing power in connection and in sharing one’s story. She works to provide an affirming space that allows clients to explore their experiences and challenges in a more nuanced and compassionate manner. Human beings have an innate need to feel seen and understood. In an increasingly isolating world, therapy offers clients the opportunity to feel less alone in their struggles, while also offering practical coping skills and strategies for growth. Sarah adopts a collaborative approach with clients, to ensure therapy is addressing goals that are valuable and relevant to each individual. Sarah is intentional about approaching clinical work with a multicultural lens as a means of acknowledging and honoring all aspects of clients’ identities and lived experiences. Sarah utilizes a trauma-informed and grief-informed framework to avoid pathologizing normative reactions to trauma and loss. Sessions will often include psychoeducation to help clients better understand and contextualize their challenges, experiences, and reactions.
Therapy is all about growth for an individual. Growth can sometimes be a scary thing. Oftentimes, growth feels like staring into the darkness with the expectation of walking forward without falling. Whether you struggle with mental illness or you just need extra support in life, I can help you walk through the darkness of the unknown. The beautiful thing that therapy offers is this: you can create your own light. As we walk through the darkness, you will begin to see more and more light. Gradually, the path will become more clear and YOU can choose the next direction. I am an expert in the field of clinical mental health and I have worked with all ages. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, corporate stress, and relationship issues. We can walk through the dark unknown together as you begin to create you own light and path for your life! All you have to do is take that first step. Currently licensed and taking clients in both NC and SC.

Clients describe my style as calm, holistic, professional and compassionate. I offer a wide range of grounding, integrating and mindfulness practices in our sessions and use a body-based approach when appropriate, helping clients explore how various bodily sensations are linked to their emotional experience. I believe therapy provides us with the support, guidance and tools to navigate away from pain and suffering and toward new, more satisfying ways of being. Are you looking for a space where you can be yourself and feel truly heard? Whether you are navigating stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, or exploring your identity, you don’t have to go through it alone. Therapy offers a safe and supportive space to better understand yourself, clarify what matters most, and take steps toward a life that feels meaningful- whatever that looks like for you. My approach is collaborative, authentic, and rooted in curiosity. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful tools for growth. In my work, I am fully present, listen deeply, and create a space where you feel heard and supported. This is your journey, and my role is to provide a space that feels safe, validating, and empowering- where you can explore, heal, and grow at your own pace. Together, we’ll explore your values, build flexibility in the way that you relate to your thoughts and emotions, and develop coping skills that fit your life. Rather than focusing on “fixing” everything, we’ll work toward creating a life that feels authentic and aligned with what matters most to you- even when life feels difficult. While I am open to working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. Additionally, I am passionate about providing affirming care for people of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community, creating a space where every part of your identity is respected and celebrated. If you have taken this step toward seeking support, I hope you feel proud- I certainly am! Choosing a therapist is deeply personal, so if something I said here resonates with you, I would be honored to connect and learn more about your story.
I'm passionate about helping my clients move from a life of fear to one of peace, feeling grounded, & trusting of yourself. You may feel lost, unsure of your next step, & grappling with anxiety. No one should have to navigate life's challenges alone- our hearts & brains were never wired for isolation. Everyone has a story that needs to be heard & I believe your life can be transformed from the insight you gain during your most challenging seasons. I believe our personal pains are often relational & I will come alongside you to reflect, offer insight & bear witness to your experiences as together we navigate your healing journey. My work is trauma & attachment-informed which means that I recognize the critical nature of our relationships, esp. those formed very early in life. Grounded in the present moment, we will explore cues from your body to help you express any emotions that may be stuck. Exploring what is happening in the here & now empowers your natural ability to heal. If this speaks to you, reach out and see if we are a good fit for each other. With a free first time phone consultation & the ability to do online sessions, I make therapy convenient & easy to fit into your busy life. Clients say they appreciate my compassion, authenticity, & warm sense of humor. It would be an honor to join you in this work.

You push yourself to meet expectations—at work, in relationships, in every aspect of life—because failure isn’t an option. But no matter how much you achieve, that nagging voice in your head keeps telling you it’s not enough. You overanalyze your mistakes, replay conversations in your head, and wonder why you can’t just relax and feel good about where you are. The pressure is relentless. You feel like you’re sprinting toward an invisible finish line that keeps moving. The weight of expectations—your own and everyone else’s—presses down on you. Maybe you’ve convinced yourself that if you can just work harder, be better, prove your worth, you’ll finally feel okay. But deep down, you’re exhausted. And you’re starting to wonder: Does it really have to be this way? It doesn’t. Therapy can help you step off the hamster wheel of perfectionism and self-doubt. Together, we’ll identify what’s fueling the pressure, challenge the patterns that keep you stuck, and help you build a life that feels authentic, balanced, and actually fulfilling—on your terms. I help young adults and teens break free from perfectionism, self-doubt, and external pressures to build confidence and live authentically.
