Life can feel heavier than it should, especially when you're trying to navigate a season of big changes and high expectations. You might notice you're constantly overthinking, feeling drained by a relentless cycle of daily responsibilities, or running on fumes as a high achiever who never quite feels like "enough." Over time, the stress of managing deadlines, next steps, and independent life can take a toll on your sleep, your relationships, and your energy—making it hard to actually enjoy your day-to-day life. My goal is to offer a welcoming, supportive space where you can step away from the pressure and talk openly about what’s truly on your mind. Together, we’ll work to better understand what you’re experiencing, find realistic ways to manage the unique challenges of modern transitions, and help you feel more confident, grounded, and connected to the life you want to live. When you reach out, you’ll connect directly with me. There is no front desk screening, I want your first connection to be as simple, private, and stress-free as possible. The way I work is grounded in warmth, respect, and a judgment-free space where you don’t have to have your entire future figured out. Together, we’ll focus on what you want to change, whether that’s finding more calm amidst daily stress, building healthier relationships, silencing overthinking, or reclaiming your confidence.

I work with teens and adults who feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, discouraged, or worn down by chronic pain. Together, we pursue healing that honors both your mental health and your faith. My approach is grounded in clinical psychology, with the option to thoughtfully integrate Christian spirituality and/or address religious trauma in a way that is respectful, collaborative, and aligned with your values. As therapy progresses, you’ll begin to notice meaningful shifts. Life, work, and relationships will feel lighter and steadier. Moments of genuine joy will return. When difficult thoughts or emotions arise, they won’t pull you under. Instead of spiraling into overthinking or self-criticism, you’ll respond with clarity, wisdom, and self-compassion. The harsh inner voice softens, replaced by one that is kinder and more truthful. The world may still feel uncertain at times, but it will no longer feel hopeless. If you’re wondering whether we might be a good fit, I invite you to learn more about my story and approach.

Finding a new therapist can be overwhelming. I'm so glad you're here! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides compassionate, evidence-based care for college students struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity exploration (including LGBTQ+ affirming care), and life transitions. Many of my clients are often struggling with confidence, setting boundaries, and being in touch with their feelings and needs. I love supporting young adults who are navigating changing relationships, whether it is navigating new and old friendships, reconfiguring relationships with parents and/or figuring out how you want to show up in romantic relationships. As a multiracial woman, I can empathize with students of color and members of other groups facing obstacles related to systemic oppression, and I strive to create a space where every part of your identity is honored and supported. I form genuine connections with each of my clients and develop a true partnership to address challenges while celebrating growth and progress along the way. I provide a balance of space to process thoughts and feelings while also offering practical tools to support change. You can show up how you need to in a safe, warm and non-judgemental space. I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan but spent the last few years in Denver and have recently moved back to Grand Rapids. When I'm not working I love yoga, running, baking and spending time outside. I'm accepting new clients and happy to text/talk to see if I can be a good fit for what what you need. I accept BCBC, BCN, BCN Advantage, cash-pay and have some sliding scale appointments. Feel free to reach out and I hope I can be a support!

Are things hard right now and you feel like you are barely treading water, or not coping as you would like? Well, I am here to wade through it with you, and help you to adapt, heal, grow, and reclaim your life so you can thrive, not just survive. Typically, my clients are adults and career professionals that struggle with a variety of issues including anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, life stressors , personal growth and more. Most seek out therapy because either something big happened and it knocked them completely off balance, or a lot of little things have built up and their ability to cope and manage life has decreased. Sometimes both. They come to me feeling anxious, sad, overwhelmed, or on edge. They may not be sleeping well, may be having relationship or school difficulties or are dealing with some kind of loss or even struggling with their medical health or have a fear or phobia. There may be a history of abuse or trauma. Or, they may simply feel stuck, uninspired, or alone and just not where they want to be in life. Yet, no matter what happened or where my clients are in their journey, I am here to empower them and help them get back on track, or in some cases, start a new path, Simply, put, I am here to support you in the process of getting, and feeling, better. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and clinical supervisor with 15 years of experience I combine authentic, relatable, down-to-earth, and compassionate care with a focus on the whole self that puts you back in control of life. While you are doing the hard work, I am your guide, teacher, listening ear, coach and support. I will push you to do, and be, better, but also be your soft place to land. I focus first on building a therapeutic foundation of safety, trust, teamwork and connection, knowing that without a good fit, therapy doesn't work. We will work together to find the right techniques and approaches that fit you and your situation best. This gives you personalized, strength-based, and holistic care where you get to be heard and express yourself, learn about (and work through) your issues, develop new skills, and create healthier habits in order to achieve better life balance and wellness. So, when you are ready to take the next step, contact me to schedule your initial appointment. My office is your safe place to breathe, heal, and grow. So kick off your shoes, get comfortable, and let’s work together to get you back in control of your life and clean out the emotional clutter. I look forward to chatting with you soon.

Sometimes we can lose our sense of self and feel overwhelmed by our emotions, experiences, and life's responsibilities. Other times, we may lack a space where we can show up as we are, without masking, and have someone join us in our emotional experience. I value creating a collaborative space for exploration, healing, and understanding—grounded in the belief that distress can arise when we feel out of tune with our authentic selves and values, or when we lack a space to be emotionally held. Together, we can create a space where you are heard and where you can explore what brings meaning to your life. I work with clients who may be navigating life transitions, are feeling anxious, or experiencing interpersonal issues. Early on, we will develop a collaborative and trusting relationship, exploring your current concerns and collaborating to find a way to address them. I often use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered, and Strengths- based techniques. After exploring what's brining you into therapy, we will work on increasing your tolerance of certain emotions while living a life that brings you fulfillment and meaning.

Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here and taking this important step in your therapy journey. My name is Ruqaiyah Rogers, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker and therapist. I’m passionate about helping college students like you find clarity, confidence, and balance while navigating life’s challenges. 🌟 College can be an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming whether you’re dealing with anxiety, stress, depression, big life changes, or just feeling stuck. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you feel comfortable exploring what’s going on and figuring out ways to move forward. I see therapy as a partnership. We’ll work together to identify your goals and use approaches that fit your unique needs. For example: CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): This is all about helping you recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns so you can feel more in control of your emotions and actions. DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Here, we focus on learning practical skills like managing overwhelming feelings, improving relationships, and staying grounded in the moment. Brainspotting: This is a technique that helps process deeper emotions and stress stored in your body. It’s great for understanding and healing from tough experiences. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): This approach is especially helpful for working through difficult memories or trauma, so they don’t feel as overwhelming anymore. If this is your first time in therapy, you might feel a little nervous, and that’s completely normal. Therapy is a space just for you, a private, judgment-free zone, to talk about anything that’s on your mind, no matter how big or small. You’re already showing courage by taking this step, and I’m here to support you in finding your way toward growth, healing, and the life you want. Let’s work together to create meaningful change and help you feel more confident and connected to yourself. 💜💛

Establishing a strong working relationship is essential to positive therapeutic outcomes. I firmly believe that therapy works best when you match well on a personal level. Adjusting to college is hard. There's a lot of pressure to do well academically, socially, personally...and it can be helpful to have an unbiased person to vent to and talk about what you're struggling with. I specialize in treating individuals struggling with primary and secondary trauma. I use a multifaceted approach to therapy to meet my clients where they are and to suit their individual needs, whether trauma is a main focus or not.
