Therapists for college students near 97203
I see therapy as a place for people to be deeply understood and gently challenged to take action on what they value most. I use a collaborative, strengths-based approach to support what is already working for you, including your innate resilience and knowledge, while also targeting areas of struggle. I recognize that healing and change happen in the context of genuine, consistent, and intentional relationships, and strive to bring these things into therapy along with techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I also deeply value feminist, queer, and liberation psychologies and draw upon these wisdoms to explore the struggle of being human from a social justice lens. Relatedly, my understanding of systems of oppression, and therefore my orientation to therapeutic practice, are informed by my identities as a White, Jewish, pansexual cisgender woman.
I believe mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of wealth, status, or reputation. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and there is always hope—no matter what you've been through or are going through. I offer a space of acceptance and support, helping you navigate difficulties and rediscover your joy, peace, and resilience. I specialize in helping individuals navigate relationships and heal from trauma. With a compassionate, collaborative approach, I help you uncover strengths, shift limiting patterns, and build resilience. I support you in developing healthier coping strategies and achieving meaningful goals. I know reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face it alone. If you're feeling stuck or ready for change, I’m here to help you uncover your strengths and work toward a life that feels true to you. When you're ready, reach out—I'd be honored to support you on your journey.
While I’ve worked with clients from all different kinds of communities, I’m particularly passionate about supporting young adults who are working through sexual shame, sexual trauma, social anxiety, neurodivergence, ethical non-monogamy, and those who identify as queer/BIPOC and/or men. I focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a strengths-based and healing focus & Narrative Therapy. Because pain and trauma are realities of our world, our past selves often inform our present relationships, even when we don’t want them to. Together we’ll work to help you understand and identify what parts of yourself show up in your life today. We’ll unpack your history and upbringing to discern how they’re potentially impacting your current relationships. We often feel like we’re “missing the mark” in our relationships - that despite all our efforts, we’re still falling short. Effectively communicating with your partner or other people in your life is a skill I’ll help you develop. Generally, my style of work is a mixture of collaborating with clients, while also challenging them to dig deeper. But above all, I approach my clients with gentleness, compassion, and I will always keep our focus on healing. I was raised in a conservative Christian environment where sex, sexuality, and gender were defined by my religion. This in turn created internalized feelings of shame about who I was. Since then, I’ve done a lot of educating and relearning to shape my identity into who I am today. As a black, brown, and queer woman, my identities inform my work and the way I show up for my clients and community. My desire is for you to feel empowered to be your authentic self and transform your relationship with sex and sexuality into a positive one. Cultivating a relationship built on trust with the people I collaborate with is something I value deeply. Having the ability to trust your therapist allows you to bring more of your true self to the table, which directly affects the quality of the work we’ll do together. I’ll work with you to build a mutual and trusting relationship, because a therapeutic relationship models relationships out in the world.
I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to foster understanding of their own mental health and create insight into what is needed to build healthy, personalized approaches to self-care and coping. Building this type of self-awareness and reaching the point of implementing these skills is often daunting, so connecting with a therapist to support you in processing these experiences will help lead to genuine change. My focus is to work with adult individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, and high sensitivity (HSPs). My approach incorporates person-centered, psychodynamic, and relational modalities that allow us to explore lifelong, underlying patterns of thinking and behavior in a safe and connected environment. I have experience in providing therapy for young to middle-aged adults from various backgrounds of ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and SES. I am currently accepting new clients! Please contact me for a phone consultation where we will determine whether my therapy services and availability fit your needs.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, working through a major life transition, or are simply looking for extra support, you’ve taken an important first step by looking into therapy. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to help you navigate challenges, strengthen coping skills, and move towards greater well-being. You deserve care that meets you where you are, and I’m here to support you. As a mixed therapist, with White (Italian & Irish) and Indigenous (Mi'kmaq) ancestors, I know how hard it can be to find time for self growth and care while navigating oppressive systems. It can be even harder when we don't fit in a binary or see ourselves reflected in the spaces we live, work, or learn. I value cultivating a safe container for folks to bring all parts of themselves to, as I believe that it is in this space of truly relating as we are, that we may find the capacity for growth and change. I reserve a few sliding scale spots for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients who are committed to therapy, but are experiencing cost as a barrier to care. If you would like to request a reduce rate slot, please contact me for details and availability.

You might react more quickly than you want, shut down in parenting, or show up in relationships in ways that don’t match who you know yourself to be. Using EMDR and parts-based (IFS-informed) therapy, I help adults and parents process past experiences so you can break automatic cycles, heal trauma, and feel more grounded. I provide therapy for adults and parents seeking a specialized, deep approach. Together, we’ll get to the root of these patterns to create meaningful, lasting change. My approach is warm, grounded, and intuitive with an easygoing style and room for humor. Since 2011, I have helped clients navigate the complex intersection of trauma and relationships. Using a parts-based approach refined over 15 years of practice, I help you bridge the gap between your past experiences and your current reactions as a partner and a parent. As a neurodiversity-affirming therapist, we’ll move at a pace that works for you, without pressure, while staying focused on what will help things shift. I offer online therapy to clients anywhere across Oregon. I also offer free consultations to see if we’re a good fit or if you need guidance on where to go next.

College is a time of growth, change, and self-discovery—but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or the pressure of figuring out who you are and where you're headed, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I specialize in working with college students who are feeling stuck, anxious, or uncertain about their identity, future, relationships, or place in the world. Many of my clients are navigating major life transitions, questioning their sense of self, or working through the challenges of living independently for the first time. You might be adjusting to new academic pressures, dealing with imposter syndrome, exploring your values and beliefs, or feeling the weight of expectations—whether from family, school, or yourself. In therapy, you’ll have a supportive and non-judgmental space to explore your emotions, experiences, and goals with self-compassion. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Together, we’ll work on understanding and reshaping negative self-beliefs, building confidence, and developing skills to help you navigate life’s challenges with more ease. I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders and relationship issues. Even more specifically, my specialty rests in helping women navigate the anxiety and overwhelm that arises when they think about saying no, setting boundaries, or expressing their true opinions. Many of my clients are exhausted from agreeing to things they don’t want to do, staying in relationships out of obligation or fear, or managing a busy social life that leaves them feeling unfulfilled and ultimately disconnected. As an attachment-based therapist, I work with women to uncover the roots of these patterns in their relationships, helping them get grounded in their values and build the courage to show up authentically. My approach helps to create context for conditioned behaviors and beliefs so that clients find their voice, face the fear of speaking their truth, and experience the freedom of being unapologetically themselves and more aligned with their values. I take a holistic approach to treatment, combining somatic work, nervous system regulation, and relational therapy. My work also incorporates nutrition and movement to support overall wellness, empowering clients to align their physical, emotional, and relational health. I completed my applied graduate training at Portland State University's Student Health and Counseling Center as a psychologist intern and was employed there as a part-time psychologist before opening my private practice. My residency was completed at Reed College Health and Counseling Center and I have also had the wonderful opportunity to complete early field work training at University of Portland's Health and Counseling Center. I love working with college students and it is a joy to be able to provide students with the opportunity for longer-term psychotherapy.

MindSights offers a wide array of psychological testing, assessment, and consultation services. We aim to help young people and/or their families gain a much more robust and practical understanding of the unique ways in which any neurodevelopmental, cognitive, emotional, and/or behavioral differences affect a specific individual’s adjustment, adaptation, success, and comfort in the world. We do not have therapists or a therapy practice, but focus exclusively on psychological testing, assessment, and consultation services
I work with clients from all walks of life—whoever you are, wherever you are on your path, I welcome you just as you are. I connect well with clients who are curious about themselves & the world, have a sense of humor, and are motivated to engage in the process of therapy. I particularly enjoy working with folks who are new to therapy and those who are motivated to roll their sleeves up and get to work.
Hi! My name is Raveena. I particularly enjoy working with young adults navigating self-esteem and self-confidence issues, major life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I specialize in supporting individuals impacted by racism, bigotry, intergenerational trauma, acculturation challenges, disordered eating/ED's and body image. I also work with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and everyday stressors. I strive to create a space that affirms all identities and lived experiences. As a South Asian therapist of Punjabi descent, I bring a deep sense of empathy and cultural awareness to my work with BIPOC and other marginalized clients. A key part of my approach is recognizing and challenging the systemic forces that impact people of color, queer and trans individuals, and those at the intersections of multiple identities. Sometimes it can be difficult to reach out, which is understandable. If it feels right, please reach out to schedule a consultation, and if you have any questions or thoughts I'd be happy to help.
I work with relationship issues and sexuality, certified as a Relationship Therapist through the Gottman Institute of Seattle. I am also certified as a Sex Therapist through AASECT, the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Several years ago I realized I am autistic and now I address issues experienced by people who are autistic/ Asperger's or those who wonder whether they may carry that diagnosis. I also see people with other forms of neurodivergence such as ADHD. Originally I am from Boston and grew up in a working class family with a commitment to political activism. I am licensed in NY and FL as well as Oregon and Washington State. Although I offer some reduced fee spots I am sorry to say they are consistently full.
I provide a safe and supportive environment to work in collaboration with you to manage mood and anxiety concerns and, if you are struggling specifically with disordered eating, the support to challenge eating disorder behavior. I strive to balance this with providing honest open reflection to help meet you where you are. I utilize the exploration of unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns meeting clients where they are at in the process of change and helping them progress.
I often work with clients who struggle with anxiety and depressive disorders, historic and/or complex trauma, identity exploration, LGBTQ+ issues, BIPOC/POC issues, and life transitions. My approach is person-centered, emotion-focused, and integrative based on other therapeutic modalities (e.g., Mindfulness, ACT, Parts Work), and collaborate with my clients on what would work best for them and their needs.
Welcome! I have been practicing as a Mental Health Counselor for nearly 10 years, and it continues to be a privilege to support individuals through life’s many challenges. As someone with lived experience as an ADHDer, I know what it can feel like to be misunderstood or to move through the world feeling different. This perspective deeply informs my work. I am passionate about supporting neurodiverse individuals, as well as those navigating anxiety, complex trauma, and depression. My goal is to help you move toward a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and more at peace. Life comes with bumps and bruises, and it can sometimes feel incredibly lonely. You do not have to go through any of it alone, nor were you meant to. As humans, we are wired for connection. I am here to meet you exactly where you are and offer a space where you can grow, heal, and reconnect with your inner sense of peace. I offer free 20-minute consultation calls so you can get a sense of who I am and whether I feel like the right fit for your needs.
