Welcome to your therapy journey, or welcome back! Now that you’re here, what do you discuss? How do you begin that conversation about mental health and wellness? As your therapist, I will immerse you in the therapy experience and provide a safe space for you to talk about yourself and what you’re looking for. In my work, I am a queer-affirming therapist who takes a relational approach to therapy, where I encourage you to explore your past relationships and reflect upon how they may have impacted you now. I treat anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, life transitions, and negative self-esteem, and work with a diverse range of clients like college students, adults, and individuals in BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. I have experience working in various clinical settings and previously worked at LaGuardia Community College's Wellness Center where I learned how to navigate a college counseling environment while providing care for hard-working students experiencing academic-related concerns. Outside of therapy, I am an artist, a social justice advocate, and an animal lover. If you are interested in booking with me, please schedule an appointment through Greenpoint Psychotherapy’s website. If you are a provider, feel free to email me or send a referral and I will respond accordingly.

I work with LGBTQ+ folks and anyone navigating trauma, OCD, anxiety, perfectionism, or big life transitions... like college students who are panic googling "what am I doing with my life??" at 2am. If you want to make sense of it all without judgment, basic "talk therapy," or silent nods behind a clipboard and want a therapist who keeps things chill, real, and sometimes even funny - I'm your girl. Whether you're spiraling over every “what if,” feeling stuck in patterns that stem from the past, or feeling like you’re losing your mind trying to figure out who you are & where you’re going, we'll work through this together.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in midtown Manhattan. When I decided to go back to school for a master’s degree, I chose social work because I felt strongly about its foundational belief that focus should be on both a person and their environment. During graduate school at Fordham University I saw many appealing paths I could continue on after graduation. While both macro and micro levels of practice are extremely important, I felt best suited for work with individuals on a deeper level. I wanted to further my education and went on to complete the four-year postgraduate training program in Adult Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy from The National Institute for the Psychotherapies. Prior to private practice I worked with a diverse population in various clinics throughout New York City. In addition to private practice I have been guest faculty at the Training Institute for Mental Health and taught a course on Eating Disorders. In March 2020, I completed a post master’s program in Spirituality and Social Work at New York University.
With over 20 years of experience, my approach is rooted in a deep understanding of the unique emotional and psychological struggles that young people encounter. My approach encourages a balance between emotional expression and building resilience, helping clients reframe their experiences and move forward with greater strength and understanding. My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based techniques tailored to each individual’s needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, (DBT)Family Systems Therapy, and trauma-informed care. My goal is to provide support, hope, and practical strategies for long-term mental health and wellbeing. I would be honored to support you in your path toward wellness and a brighter future.
College can be a meaningful and exciting chapter, but it can also bring intense pressure, uncertainty, identity questions, family stress, relationship challenges, burnout, anxiety, and executive functioning struggles. My practice offers a warm, collaborative space where students can slow down, feel understood, and develop practical tools for navigating both emotional distress and daily life demands. At Karuna Psychotherapy & Consulting , therapy is trauma-responsive, compassion-focused, and neuroscience-informed, with an emphasis on mind–body integration, relational attunement, and authentic human connection. At Karuna, we support deep healing, wholeness, and personal growth through compassionate, relational, mind–body psychology. I work from a non-shaming, culturally aware , LGBTQ+ affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming perspective. Together, we may explore patterns of stress, self-criticism, avoidance, perfectionism, overwhelm, attachment wounds, or disconnection from the body. My approach integrates evidence-informed psychotherapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, nervous system regulation, parts work, and insight-oriented reflection. My goal is to help students feel safer within themselves, better able to understand their emotions, and more empowered to move toward relationships, values, and choices that support their well-being.

I am a licensed clinical social worker providing trauma-informed counseling rooted in queer liberation and trans joy. I apply my training in EMDR, embodiment, and somatics, as well as my own experience in a queer body, to support people in generating the autonomy and empowerment necessary to navigate significant life transitions with choice. Counseling starts with building connections with therapists who recognize the significance of language and culture. As a therapist, I rely on my knowledge of the Latina/o community to communicate with clients about mental health stigma, develop trust, and discuss resources available. I can provide therapy in English and Spanish for those who wish to conduct sessions fully in Spanish. In my therapy work, I take a nonjudgmental approach and allow you to be you. I specialize in helping clients navigate grief and loss, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, trauma, and major life transitions. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and older adults, and I adapt my approach to meet you where you are. Whether you’re holding deep sadness, feeling stuck in stress, or looking for new ways to cope, I’ll help you identify what’s working, build new tools, and move forward with more self-trust.
Learning how to navigate life as a young adult is hard! You are trying to balance the demands of work or school, family, and friends, all while figuring out who you are and who you want to be. As a driven and successful individual, you may put a lot of pressure on yourself and feel constrained by your own expectations. This can lead to constant self-doubt and feeling like you're always reaching for an unattainable (or unrealistic) goal. You may be overextending yourself to others, and not focusing on yourself. Perhaps you have negative thought patterns or behaviors that are causing discomfort or you don't always understand your reactions. Virtual therapy can help. Let's work together to discover the barriers that are keeping you from finding balance in your life - taking care of yourself and setting boundaries is not selfish!
At Rivia Medical, we believe in a holistic approach to mental health, with a focus on both treatment and prevention. We believe in listening to each patient and creating a partnership to work on maintaining and improving lifelong health. This includes creating a personalized treatment plan that incorporates the best evidence-based care, but which also takes into account your personal circumstances, perspectives, goals and expectations. High quality mental healthcare is hard to find and hard to afford. We wanted to create a place where people could find reliable and informed psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and therapists, and have the option to explore treatment options other than medication. We are a team of well-trained psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and social workers. We keep ourselves educated and informed. And we focus on understanding you, the individual, in detail before deciding on the right treatment. What excites us about our practice is the excellent clinicians in our group, and the fascinating patients and clients we get to help. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive evaluations and treatment for those suffering from psychiatric symptoms, or psychological distress.
