College is supposed to be one of the best times of your life, so why does it sometimes feel like the hardest? Maybe you're juggling more than you ever have before - classes, deadlines, relationships, and the pressure to perform academically while somehow also figuring out who you are and where you belong. Maybe the adjustment to college life has been harder than you expected - the homesickness, the new environment, the feeling that everyone else seems to be thriving while you're just trying to keep your head above water. Maybe anxiety has become your constant companion, or stress has made it hard to enjoy the things you used to love. Maybe you're asking bigger questions too - who am I, really? What do I actually want? Where am I headed? - and the pressure to have it all figured out feels overwhelming. Or maybe nothing dramatic has happened, and that almost makes it harder to explain. You just know something feels off, and you're not quite sure where to turn. Here's what I want you to know: you don't have to have it all together to reach out. You don't need a crisis to deserve support. College is one of the most profound transitions of your life - a time of incredible growth, but also real uncertainty, loneliness, and pressure that often goes unseen. I offer warm, collaborative, judgment-free therapy for college students navigating exactly this. Together we can work through anxiety and stress, explore who you are and who you want to become, and help you find your footing - so you can actually show up for your life, not just get through it. You deserve a space that's entirely yours - and finding the right therapist should feel like a good fit, not another stressor. That's why I offer a free 15-minute consultation - no pressure, no commitment - just a chance to chat, ask questions, and see if this feels right for you. Think of it as a low-stakes first step toward feeling more like yourself again. I'd be honored to be that space. Please reach out anytime. I'm here whenever you're ready.

Hello, My name is Lauren Pezzo and I am the owner of Dedicated Peace. I am a solo practitioner seeing clients remotely. I treat a variety of ages from 13 - 55+ and I am most familiar with Mood Disorders (Depression, Anxiety, Bi-Polar, Panic, etc). I have worked with individuals with a history of trauma be it recent or in the past. I do well with relationship issues, couples sessions and handling familial conflict. I am very big on clients learning to change their narrative. Meaning being open to changing the various stories we tend to tell and sell ourselves over the years. I want to help people think in the grey area of life and be open to challenging narrow thinking we may have become accustomed to.
I provide a comfortable, non-judgmental, and multicultural lens to ensure the ability of tackling each issue in a safe and healthy way. I specialize in working with teenagers, college students, and the LGBT Community, and I also focus on treating ADHD, Anxiety, BPD, Trauma, and General Life Stressors.
College can be a great time to start exploring relationships and even making long-term bonds. However, the stresses of college life can challenge even the most loving of relationships. I assist couples to identify communication and intimacy issues that prevent them from connecting both physically and emotionally. There is no size fits all. Thus, I seek to collaborate with my clients to co-create a therapeutic experience that creates the trust necessary to do deeper work.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in midtown Manhattan. When I decided to go back to school for a master’s degree, I chose social work because I felt strongly about its foundational belief that focus should be on both a person and their environment. During graduate school at Fordham University I saw many appealing paths I could continue on after graduation. While both macro and micro levels of practice are extremely important, I felt best suited for work with individuals on a deeper level. I wanted to further my education and went on to complete the four-year postgraduate training program in Adult Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy from The National Institute for the Psychotherapies. Prior to private practice I worked with a diverse population in various clinics throughout New York City. In addition to private practice I have been guest faculty at the Training Institute for Mental Health and taught a course on Eating Disorders. In March 2020, I completed a post master’s program in Spirituality and Social Work at New York University.

Therapy is a powerful tool in the process of inviting our most authentic selves to emerge. My approach is grounded in an integrative blend of Eastern and Western modalities and philosophies with the goal of fostering a greater connection between the mind, body, and spirit. In sessions, we will bring awareness to the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to better understand the blockages that are preventing you from living a fully expressed life. I provide a compassionate and safe container to work towards healing past wounds while addressing present problems. I received my Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University and have been trained in Holistic Psychotherapy by Rebecca Greene, LMHC, CYT. My treatment modalities include Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Relationship Counseling, and Interpersonal Psychology. I have experience working with a wide range of clients across various stages of life who are working through issues related to relationships, codependency, grief, past and present trauma, anxiety, stress, and the feeling of overwhelm, spirituality, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. I am affirming of diverse orientations, identities, relationships, and family systems including, but not limited to Polyamory and Consensual Non Monogamy, LGBTQAI2+, Genderqueer, Kink/BDSM, Monogamous, Straight, and committed Allies and family members. “When we are no longer able to change a situation… we are challenged to change ourselves.” Viktor Frankl The college experience is a journey filled with ups and downs. This period of our lives can be overwhelming, and bring up different emotions, including depression, anxiety, and loneliness. It's important to acknowledge these feelings, learn to manage and work through them so you can be your best self. I want you to know that you are not alone. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. College is a time of self-discovery, and it's completely normal to grapple with questions about who you are and where you fit in. The academic pressures only add to the challenges you may be facing. Together, we can work towards understanding the roots of your struggles and develop coping strategies that empower you to overcome challenges. If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing, please reach out.
For over 40 years, I've worked with individuals, couples, families, & groups. From among the numerous treatment approaches in which I've trained, i custom tailor a way of working that best suits your needs. Thus, I start by listening to your concerns. Then together we can delineate goals. These can range from broad existential concerns, e.g. how you want to BE everyday, how to live "happier." . . to practical ways to improve your relationship(s), choose a career, reduce your anxiety or depression, manage your A.D.D. I work with local psychiatrists if you wish to consider, or manage, medication(s). I'm sorry but i do not accept any insurance (managed care was around when i started to practice). I'll help you find out if your insurance contract will reimburse you for an Out-of-Network (OON) Psychologist like myself. Also, since Covid, i've been working solely over Zoom. I look forward to hearing from you. Dr. Joy
It's getting more and more difficult to resist your compulsions. You're getting upset with yourself for not having enough "willpower." You're having frightening thoughts about yourself and others. Thoughts that scare you or contradict your values and who you are as a person. You experience self-hate every time you give into a compulsion. You're exhausted by your own mental and/or physical compulsions. You struggle to trust yourself and often experience shame surrounding your thoughts. You keep it all to yourself because you fear that others will judge you or betray you. Simultaneously, you need emotional support more than ever. My clinical training includes a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and a master's degree in Clinical Social work from Hunter College. I utilize ERP, the gold standard for OCD, CBT, and solution-focused therapy. I also provide mindfulness tools to help clients increase awareness around behaviors. I work collaboratively with my clients, using my clinical background and their knowledge of self and am grateful to witness them transform into versions of themselves that they never thought were possible. It is a privilege to be allowed into the minds and hearts of my clients. I welcome you to reach out for a free consultation to see if we're a good fit.
My clients are professionals at every stage of life navigating burnout, identity, relationships, cultural expectations, and the weight of always showing up for others. I draw on CBT, narrative, and strengths-based approaches that are always adapted to who you are and where you come from. My goal is to help you find what already works in you and build from there. I am a multilingual (English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi) clinical social worker with experience supporting people navigating life transitions across diverse cultural contexts. I specialize in working with individuals facing the particular pressures of their field, from burnout and boundary-setting to identity and belonging.
