Life is full of changes. Some anticipated, and others that catch us off guard. I work with teens, college students, and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, and depression. I approach every person with openness, curiosity, and a little bit of humor. I incorporate evidence-based treatments such as CBT and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe that healing can happen alongside moments of laughter, lightness, and connection. I aim to provide a space that is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, and life transitions. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you think I may be a good fit for you, I invite you to reach out to me via email. I offer a free 15 minute consultation call to discuss your goals for therapy.

Colorful Resilience is a Queer-Afro-Latina-owned outpatient mental health services office in West Springfield, Massachusetts. We proudly provide therapy – primarily, but not exclusively – to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, First Generation, and immigrant folks. For clients in the Western MA area, we offer in-person consultations and virtually for those all across Massachusetts. Due to a lack of clinical representation and cultural competency in the mental health field, the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, First Generation, and immigrant communities have historically been underserved. Colorful Resilience hopes to remedy such disparity by ensuring all our team members are representatives of the communities we serve, fearless allies, or both. Not only utilizing education but also lived experiences to provide the most relevant behavioral health services.

Great to meet you! My philosophy is simple: listen first, treat second. I take time to understand your story, explain how diagnoses and medications work, and ensure every decision is made together. You’ll never feel rushed or dismissed. I value transparency, education, and collaboration in every session. My approach to treatment: What you can expect from our first session Our first session is about getting to know you. We’ll review your current concerns, explore your history, and discuss what you hope to gain from treatment. Most importantly, you’ll be met with patience and respect. This is a space for you to feel heard, understood, and supported as we begin working toward meaningful change together. Hi, I’m Niko, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with two years of experience providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I take a client-centered approach to therapy, honoring each person's story and working collaboratively to support healing, emotional regulation, and growth. Whether you're navigating anxiety, parenting challenges, or seeking better coping skills, my goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you feel seen and supported. I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches—like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally-Focused Therapy—tailored to your needs. I also deeply value inclusive care and proudly work with clients from LGBTQIA+ communities, diverse relationship structures, and those seeking sex-positive, body-positive, or kink-affirming support. When I’m not in session, you’ll find me on my small farm tending to my organic garden, caring for my two cows and mini donkey, Oakly, making art, and soaking in the peace of nature.

As a therapist, I partner with you to make sense of your story. Through this work, we often discover together that what’s happening for you in the present makes perfect sense given what you’ve lived through so far and the forces that have shaped you. With this understanding, you can more easily access softness toward yourself and others, and even find other ways of being. I primarily practice from relational psychodynamic and trauma perspectives, drawing from neurodevelopmental, family systems, and body-based frames as appropriate. As a social worker, I am attuned to the ways that systems of power and oppression contribute to experiences of mental health.

I recognize that finding a therapist can feel daunting and that asking for help is not always easy. I want to acknowledge this first step of looking at profiles and encourage you to take the time to find someone that feels like a good fit for you. If we work together, my goal is to provide a non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported; we will also work together to identify goals and steps towards meaningful change that feel aligned with your life and your beliefs. Over the past 8 years I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds with a broad range of needs and expectations. My work primarily focuses on supporting clients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am also passionate about helping people set boundaries in their relationships, advocate for themselves, build self-confidence, and commit to realistic self-care. I am mindful of the importance of context, including systemic barriers, cultural norms, and the dynamic nature of the counseling relationship itself in order to identify the best approach for you as an individual. I center my work with clients, irrespective of age and experience, on the belief that fundamentally every one of us is doing the best we can at any given moment. I strive to create the space necessary to move through what feels, and can be, unbearable, and move forward with hope and intention. I am currently accepting new clients via telehealth. Please reach out if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing if we could be a good fit to work together!

Sometimes we don’t have anyway of knowing what we’ve been through until it’s over. Recognizing things that were harmful to us sometimes cannot happen until we are no longer in survival mode. Dealing with overwhelming thoughts, depression, anxiety, or the overwhelming emotions that can come in waves is a significant thing to have to handle. This can lead to people struggling to handle life, and even consider ending it. At Inverted Dawn, we specifically work with people who’ve reached that point where things have gotten so bad, nothing seems to make sense anymore. What we offer is a supportive, non-judgmental approach to help explore where you are at, how you’ve been coping with it, and what a tomorrow that is worth living for would truly look like.
