Therapists for college students near Boston College
Much of my work focuses on helping patients understand what’s keeping them there and how to move forward with greater clarity. I work primarily with young adults, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, relationship stress, attachment-related matters, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. My background in community mental health has also involved supporting individuals facing complex stressors and overlapping concerns.
Starting therapy is a big step—one that takes courage. College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Maybe you're struggling with the weight of past experiences, feeling lost about your future, or dealing with relationship challenges that leave you unsure of where you stand. Balancing all of this while trying to keep up with school and daily life can feel like too much to handle on your own. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Therapy is a space where you can bring your full self—your worries, frustrations, hopes, and uncertainties—without fear of judgment. My goal is to help you make sense of what feels messy, reconnect with your strengths, and navigate the challenges that are holding you back. I specialize in working with college students and understand the unique struggles that come with this stage of life. If you're curious about how therapy might help, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. Feel free to check out my website or send me an email with any questions. No matter what you're facing, you're not alone, and I'm here to support you.
Maybe it’s hard to name exactly what’s wrong. You may be functioning on the outside while feeling exhausted inside, unsure how to share any of this with the people and systems around you. I share and want to honor these experiences of moving between cultures and languages, carrying expectations, and navigating BIPOC and LGBTQ+ identities. Together, I will work with you to co-create a space where you feel heard and seen, with room to better understand who you are and move toward what you want. My hope is to gently empower you with insights and momentum that extend into your life beyond therapy. As a queer Asian therapist with experience as an international student, I bring understanding of navigating identity, belonging, and multiple worlds into my work. My approach is trauma-informed, relational-cultural, and humanistic, with space for creative exploration of your experiences and relationships. I also integrate CBT and somatic tools when helpful. You don’t have to carry everything alone. If you’re looking for a fellow traveler who can hold your full story, sit with life challenges, and stay alongside you through uncertainty and change, I’m here to walk with you.

Accepting new patients.....It is through therapy that we come to understand how our experiences make our lives meaningful. Choosing a therapist isn't an easy task; I hope sharing my perspective helps. Over the last decade I have worked at universities, elementary schools, rehabilitation centers and group homes with children and adults from 7-70. These experiences have shown me that the right environment activates our innate capacity to mature and thrive. Therapy is not about "fixing" someone, it's about creating a space that supports growth. My approach embraces the power of personality to facilitate change. Through active listening, I acknowledge the impact of personal experiences and encourage exploration. Like exercising - regular, creative dialogue yields new strengths and abilities. In this way, individuals find their own solutions that are often more personalized than CBT. As you search for a therapist, consider me - I think you'll find me accessible, pragmatic, and insightful.

I create a safe and nonjudgmental space for our work together. In that space, you can expect me to be curious, compassionate, and collaborative. I will ask questions to understand you and your experience better. I will treat you and your story with respect, kindness, and empathy. I will seek your input as we work together to accomplish your therapy goals. I would want to feel your pain and your world with you. By being emotionally attuned to your experience and utilizing intellectually and emotionally engaged facilitations, you will feel your problems resolved in a deep way.
As individuals or in the context of a relationship, we are always trying to make meaning of our lives, decide what is essential to us, and think about the path we are on. Of course, in life there are transitions and challenges along the way which interfere. One can become affected emotionally and can get lost for a time, or feel disillusioned, upset or stuck. In our relationships, we experience conflict and communication struggles, and sometimes get locked into repeated and unwanted patterns. One might ask: "Am I living the life I want; is there something more for me? How do I change? Therapy can be a way to understand the emotions we have, the life transitions we experience and the thoughts we linger on as our lives and relationships evolve and develop. Beyond understanding, therapy’s intent is to support and prompt change and to help you sort through these challenges in your own unique way. Collaboration will guide our work together. I am an interactive, direct and reflective therapist who brings curiosity, humor and respect for the complexity of the issues individuals face. Change is difficult to achieve; my job is to help you utilize and build your resources to accomplish the goals you seek. Having over 30 years of clinical experience offers strategies and tools to share.
We focus on a collaborative approach in therapy to address the unique needs of each person who walks through the office door or logs on to our online telehealth session. We strive to create an environment where a person can feel comfortable to explore life's struggles. Our Focus on Growth We believe that everyone can gain new coping skills or insight in therapy that can help them better handle life's difficulties when they arise. We believe a person can then use these skills to thrive and feel more satisfied in life.

As a dedicated therapist specializing in complex trauma and identity development, I am committed to creating a culturally sensitive, collaborative, non-judgmental, and engaging therapeutic space for my clients. Whether you face issues with boundaries, repeat behavior patterns, or have experienced complex PTSD or relational trauma, I am here to support your journey toward healing. In our work together, I will create a compassionate space to explore parts of yourself that carry shame or may have been dismissed or invalidated. I am attuned to your emotional needs and skilled in asking thoughtful questions that deepen your self-understanding. My goal is to help you lead an integrated life with courage, confidence, and clarity. Clients describe therapy with me as “deeply impactful,” with lasting benefits. I believe in everyone’s capacity to heal, even when the path seems unclear. It is within safety and connection that we heal. I believe in the importance of creating a warm, non-judgmental, and safe therapeutic space, and a relationship in which you feel supported, understood, and heard. Client’s that I work with often struggle with feeling good about themselves, navigating relational challenges, coping with distressing experiences, as well as feeling connected to and/or expressing their authentic self. Together, we will explore your concerns and help you grow towards greater self-understanding, confidence, improvements in the quality and intimacy of your relationships, self-compassion, and well-being. My therapeutic approach is integrative, trauma-informed and relational. I tailor interventions to meet the specific needs and presenting concerns of clients and couples to supportively foster individuals’ and partners’ movement towards their goals. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). I specialize in working with individuals and couples struggling with interpersonal and relationship concerns (e.g., romantic, family, friends), sexual health and intimacy, transition and adjustment difficulties, emotional distress (e.g., anxiety, depression), grief and loss, trauma, and identity development. I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
Many of the clients we work with are navigating significant transitions in life—whether it’s stepping into adulthood, healing from past trauma, managing anxiety or OCD, or exploring their identity. They often feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or like they have to “do it all” perfectly. They want space to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. In our practice, clients value real connection, honesty, and a therapist who feels present and engaged. They’re not looking for someone with all the answers—they’re looking for someone who will walk alongside them, help them understand themselves better, and offer tools that work in real life. Our clinicians care about people's stories and want to support clients in self-development by showing up authentically, building strong relationships, and exploring various clinical approaches, such as EMDR, IFS, ACT, and more. We look forward to supporting you.
As a psychotherapist, my goal is to help people talk about life challenges. My psychoanalytic training helps clients uncover their true potentials and work on their long-standing behavior patterns that may be holding them back from experiencing a more fulfilling and happier life. A licensed mental health counselor and licensed substance abuse counselor and supervisor, I have extensive experience working with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. My experience treating people, supervising clinicians as well as being director of outpatient group therapy programs prepared me for specializing in a variety of areas providing services that span from therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, difficulties with college life to group therapy for people struggling with work and relationship issues. I am currently scheduling Telehealth sessions.
Using compassionate listening with active questioning I help you explore the areas you are struggling in and creatively find solutions. Borrowing from my work with clients over the years, and my own life experiences, I share anecodotes, humor and practical advice to help you find your authentic self and the contentment and happiness we all strive for. You will find me active, thoughtful, caring and engaging. I love my work and the opportunity to help others move forward in their lives.
In my counseling work I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups. My clients include people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. My relational and existential approach helps me understand and connect with my clients. I believe that the intent of therapy is exchanging "symptoms" for "coping skills." To accomplish this transformation, we need to understand our past to shed light on who we are in the present, where we have the power to focus on present issues and make changes that will influence our future. I see psychotherapy as a learning process. I bring my knowledge and understanding of psychological phenomena to bear on my client's life experiences. Psychotherapy is not an easy process, but I work to meet you, the client, where you are and to create safe space to explore and grow. In addition to psychotherapy work, I'm an adjunct faculty at Lesley University, where I teach Introduction to Psychology and Child Psychology. I have completed my psychoanalysis fellowship with the IPE, which is affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine. I'm also a certified Cognitive Behavioral group therapist.
