Sometimes the hardest step is reaching out for help when we need it. As a therapist, it is very important to me to provide a uniquely comfortable (and at times - fun!) approach to sessions. It can be difficult to talk about some of life's challenges, so my goal is to be there to help you through it - in a way that works and feels right for you. We all have the tools within us to manage our mood, emotions, and relationships. My job is to empower you to identify and cultivate your strengths and interests to improve connections with yourself and others. The majority of my clinical work has been done in crisis, hospital, and outpatient settings, so I am very comfortable in navigating whatever challenges you may be facing, calmly and without judgment. In addition, I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and bring these skills to sessions to further support you. I have an extensive background working with specialized communities such as the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent communities. Outside of sessions you can find me spending time with my cat (who may visit during Telehealth sessions), playing the piano, or creating a list of the best food in Boston. I am originally from Miami and I hope to bring some of that warmth to therapy sessions here in Boston. As a mental health therapist, I offer consulting services to help individuals and organizations improve their mental health and wellbeing. I work in partnership with my clients to identify areas of concern and develop customized solutions to meet their unique needs.
For people of all ages, difficulties in life may result from a lost connection with one’s internal experience. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to attend closely to one’s thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive environment. In child therapy, play is the primary mode of communication. Through play, children explore their internal world, rehearse for life, process past events, practice creativity, and learn to moderate themselves. As children begin to feel understood and understand themselves, their internal experience can become their guide to being in the world. In talk therapy with adolescents and adults, I offer a collaborative, exploratory space where together we will work to understand your personal experience and the roots of your distress. This process can lead to a deeper connection with oneself and to others. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults. I work with individuals struggling with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity issues, attentional problems, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

Let's figure out some concrete ways of working on these struggles! We can process what you've been through, work on healthier ways of coping, boundary setting, explore society's impact on self worth, and/or support you on your gender journey. Hello! I am Yvette LeBlanc Gundry, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I specialize in supporting undergraduates, graduate students, post-grad, and adult clients who are parents or thinking about becoming parents through life transitions, relationship issues, and issues of self esteem and identity. I offer online and walk & talk therapy to folks who are looking for support during times of stress, are interested in finding meaning and connection, and improving their relationships with themselves and others. With compassion and humor, I strive for a collaborative relationship in which I provide a non judgmental space for each client to explore and process experiences. I utilize a relational, client-centered, grief & trauma informed approach tailored to each client’s needs, and often incorporate tools such as mindfulness, expressive approaches, mind-body approaches, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to empower clients. In my work with clients I provide information, encouragement, and support to help pave the way for meaningful change. I assist clients in navigating grief & loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions and direction, academic stress, relationship distress, trauma, perinatal/reproductive mental health, spirituality, and medical stressors & mind-body issues. I can help you develop self-understanding, gain confidence, and learn strategies to manage distress. I welcome individuals of all identities as clients, and where our identities or experiences differ, I hope to be an ally for you in your life.
Often, a significant source of suffering lies in thoughts and feelings that exist outside of our awareness and have not yet been able to find full expression. Psychotherapy offers the unusual opportunity to be listened to deeply and to learn to listen to ourselves in new ways. Exploring and developing insight into your inner life can lead to change—feeling better about yourself, shifting seemingly intractable patterns that have kept you stuck, and developing a greater sense of agency and fulfillment in your life. My practice provides a safe setting in which this exploration can unfold. I'll work collaboratively with you to help you make sense of distressing feelings and thoughts, gain insight into your experiences, and develop a more authentic relationship to yourself and to the world. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and my work is influenced by psychoanalytic and trauma-informed approaches. I see adults and specialize in a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and relationship difficulties. While addressing the biological, psychological, cultural and social factors that contribute to the areas of concern, I tend to identify and underscore one’s strengths and positive coping skills. I believe that the best outcomes are achieved through a highly collaborative, supportive and compassionate working relationship between patients and physician.
Approaching ourselves with curiosity and compassion is the best way to grow and heal. Therapy is an opportunity to examine the past, gain insight, explore identity, challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, improve relationships, and manage transitions. A good therapeutic relationship is collaborative and affirming: based on trust, respect, and acceptance. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, experiences, and orientations. My background is in psychodynamic psychotherapy. My work is informed by an attachment lens, parts work, and polyvagal theory. I am an EMDR Certified clinician.
I support individuals of all genders and sexual orientations to feel more connected to themselves, partners, friends and community. I provide an open space to talk about issues related to gender identity and sexuality such as: Increasing self-acceptance, coming out/safety, LGBTQ family building and referral letters for gender affirming medical care.
We are a group of licensed psychotherapists who provide high quality psychotherapy that seek to help people ultimately feel more in charge of their own lives. In our work, we value helping people feel more understood as they face challenges inside and outside of themselves while finding motivation to think and act in more expansive ways that invite more options for the life they want. Our approach endeavors to co-create safe spaces, with deep sensitivity to all the pieces that make up a person’s identity including culture, sexual orientation, race and religion.
I think of this work as a combination of life coaching and therapy. We will focus on your day to day life challenges, noticing the patterns that lead to success as well as those patterns that get in your way. While doing this we can strengthen and celebrate what is working, become aware of patterns that are not working and create new patterns resulting in a better life. In my practice we can do both in-person and/or Telehealth. If we are to meet in-person I like to meet you where you are at literally and figuratively. I do not see people in an office. In my time as a clinician I have learned that some of the best work is done on a walk or a drive, while at a coffee shop or some other cool place that you know. Give me a call and see if I feel like a good fit.

I encourage client feedback to assess what you are finding helpful within sessions, and tailor my approach to fit your needs. I am available to see new clients with BCBS, United Healthcare, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, Aetna or self-pay, and am happy to answer any questions you may have about starting therapy.
