Hello, I’m Alex, a counselor and art therapist in the Wheat Ridge area! I offer virtual and in-person, and I specialize in OCD, anxiety, women’s issues, grief/loss, and alternative/ENM/CNM relationships. I serve ages 16+ and am particularly passionate about working with LGBTQ+ folks. I believe that each person holds the answers to their questions, but I can serve as a tool in helping you define and actualize your values. Let's partner up to build your journey of self-discovery and understanding, and create narratives that grow your ability to love yourself and your life. I have an upfront and honest approach to therapy, where our sessions look like a conversation of getting us closer to the truth about YOU. I'm also passionate about teaching evidence based skills and tools to work into your daily life. The more we understand what’s going on, the more equipped you are to make choices about what you want and who you want to become!

The journey to find your true self looks different for each individual and it is my goal to join you specifically where you are and walk alongside you as you find your way to where you’d like to be. I work in both private practice counseling and neurofeedback having experience working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, relationship problems, sleep issues, eating disorders, learning disabilities, self-exploration, and much more. It is the most incredible feeling to join the process of somebody finding themselves and understanding that they have the power to make positive and lasting changes in their lives. With an empowering & non-judgmental approach I utilize CBT & SFT with skills including motivational interviewing, mindfulness, & Adlerian therapy. In addition, I can incorporate neurofeedback which is a technology that maps a client’s brain & discovers dysregulation. We can then address specific brain-based causes for many emotional and behavioral issues. My mission is to create a collaborative, holistic, and healthy therapeutic relationship individualized for you. I am honored to be in the position to see growth and change in people as they take steps to improve their lives. Please call for a free 15 minutes consultation to see if we would be a good match.
Hi there! I work with people who come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, but often because they want to feel better about who they are. Maybe you feel alone or like you're not sure where you're going in life, or your family isn't what you wish it was. As a a therapist, I like to help people look beneath the surface, beyond the symptoms, and understand what’s really going on. Why *do* you get anxious? Why does it feel like something’s missing? Maybe you know what you should do, but you just can’t seem to bring yourself to do it. Getting a better understanding of how your life has shaped who you are today can help make some of those things feel less confusing—and sometimes make change feel a little more possible. I have a particular soft spot for working with people who feel alone or different in some kind of way. While I may or may not have lived through the same things, I work hard to make therapy feel like a place where you can share those parts of yourself and maybe feel a little less alone. Before going into therapy, I spent over a decade working in tech, doing data analytics and software engineering at both big corporations and startups. This gives me a unique perspective on what post-college life might look like, as well as an appreciation for some of the challenges tech poses for people just starting their careers.

I’m excited to work with you to build resources, develop skills, and assist you in taking any necessary steps toward achieving your goals. My style is relational, holistic, empathic, and collaborative; I believe that you are the expert of your experience. I enjoy working to understand where you’re coming from so that we can explore your roadblocks in life together. I use a combination of approaches that will be catered to your individual needs. Give me a call to see if we’re a good fit! I believe compassion, understanding, and the therapeutic relationship are valuable as the framework for change. Much of my experience includes working with teens and adults to treat problems with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, substance abuse, codependency, women’s issues, obsessive-compulsive disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, and trauma.
Prior to private practice, I worked in college counseling for three years. My style as a therapist is to provide much warmth, curiosity, compassion, and humor to help each client engage in a productive way of understanding themselves and their mental functioning. I take a holistic approach that encompasses the mind and the body. Although I work with many presenting concerns, I have noticed a commonality of how people are self-critical and subsequently experience declines in their mental health and relationships. I work with each client to develop self-awareness and coping skills to help decrease their mental health distress.
Your struggles do not have to define who you are or determine the quality of your life. I am a licensed professional counselor and since 2003, I have helped individual adults address trauma, anxiety and depression. Through a tailor-made treatment plan, we break down the process into manageable steps. Together, we will tackle what is robbing you of contentment and vitality. I also help people explore their sexual orientation and gender identities. The goal is to help you find self-acceptance, resiliency, and an opportunity to celebrate sexual and gender diversity. I utilize approaches like EMDR, Gestalt Therapy, DBT, and mindfulness practices to deliver evidence-based, experiential treatment In time, the commitment and work we do will be an immeasurable gift that will have long reaching impacts you may not even know are possible.
Healing and growth takes place in the context of relationships - in our relationship with ourselves, and in our relationships with others. Unfortunately, our relationships can sometimes become distant, disconnected and a place of conflict, leaving us with unmet needs and just feeling “stuck.” We don’t feel safe asking for what we need, and maybe don’t even know what we need ourselves. The therapeutic relationship in counseling provides an authentic and safe place in which healing can begin to take place. My goal is to provide you with a space where you feel seen and heard; where you feel safe to explore your story and your experiences; a space where you can work through some of the hard things in a way that moves you towards a deeper sense of wholeness and connection. If you'd like to find out if this is a good place for you to address some of these things for yourself, reach out and we can schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if it would be a good fit!
Hi, I'm Ariella, and I'm so glad you're here! I started WILD Essence Nature Guiding & Therapy because I saw a distinct relationship between our disconnection from nature and how it reflects our disconnection from Self. I believe that Self is formed in relationship and that the connection to ourselves, others, and the natural world are the utmost importance in our ability to heal our nervous systems and form healthy and lasting relationships, habits, and behaviors. Who I work with: While I enjoy working with clients with a broad range of struggles, I have a special interest in supporting women and neurodiverse individuals through life transitions, grief, and identity work, as well as working with those who have experienced complex or relational trauma, attachment wounding, and relational issues. I have worked in a variety of capacities with individuals of all ages and have experience and/or training in trauma, EMDR, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, women's issues, mindfulness, animal-assisted Therapy, LGBTQIA+ community, social justice/anti-racism counseling, and working with neurodivergent individuals. I received a master’s in counseling from Naropa University with a focus in Transpersonal Wilderness Therapy and experiential therapies. I completed a certification from the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies. What to expect when working with me: My goal is to create a nonjudgmental and compassionate space for you to heal. During our sessions, whether in nature, in the office, or online, you can expect to feel seen, heard, and held. Whatever you are bringing in, we will work collaboratively to bring the unconscious conscious, identify outdated beliefs/patterns that may be getting in the way of your healing, and practice new skills for navigating and overcoming the challenges that you are experiencing. You can also expect to laugh, cry, feel lighter, feel joy, and experience positive change and growth. I offer a holistic approach to therapy, and I focus on a mind/body/nature connection, using mindfulness and somatic-based practices and movement to move energy and regulate your nervous system while working through challenging or disturbing material. ***Please note that I am only accepting Colorado Access Medicaid at this time***
