At the heart of my work is the belief that progress begins with a strong, trusting relationship. I offer a client-centered approach that honors your unique experiences, values, and strengths. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process—it’s a collaborative journey where we work together to identify your goals, uncover patterns, and explore new perspectives. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply seeking greater clarity, my role is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and supported. I see therapy as a team effort—you bring your expertise on your life, and I bring clinical knowledge, insight, and compassion. Together, we create a partnership built on respect, authenticity, and shared commitment to growth. My goal is not to "fix" you, but to walk alongside you as we tap into your capacity for resilience and change. If you’re ready to begin this process, I’m here to meet you where you are.

I work with the body and the nervous system to integrate difficult experiences and regulate ourselves from the bottom up. I love to work with the inner critic (aka self-criticism), the inner child (aka reactivity), and trauma (big and small). I strive to help clients recognize their strengths in difficult times and promote healing from past hardships, stress, and addiction issues. I use a holistic approach, with emphasis on the mind-body connection. I believe that healing takes place in the context of relationships. Therefore it is vital to establish trust and acceptance between therapist and client. Several clients have told me that they appreciate my compassionate, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach. I am a licensed clinical social worker and addictions counselor with eleven years of experience working in mental health and addictions. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, life transition issues, and addiction. I work primarily with adults and young adults. I received my bachelor's from the University of Colorado, and my master's in Clinical Social Work from Boston University. In addition to my Master's degree, I hold a License in Addiction Counseling. I use techniques such as mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), insight-building, and strengths-based counseling to assist clients through the healing process.
My work rests on a profound respect for the human capacity to change as well as a deep appreciation of the impact of emotional pain on the process of living. This perspective emerged from my 25+ years in practice, my formal training, my work at psychiatric hospitals and other facilities, my experience as a supervisor and a teacher, and a life lived as a member of the human species. Although my approach depends on the needs of each individual, I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation for psychotherapy and a window into the client's other relationships, both historical and contemporary. I adopt a collaborative approach to create a safe space in which there is respect for the ways in which individuals have learned to cope with traumatic and painful experiences. Rather than pathologize these currently anachronistic survival strategies, I help clients understand them as creative attempts to cope that may have outlived their usefulness. believe that choosing the right therapist is more than just a matter of credentials and experience. I believe it involves finding someone with whom you have the right "fit." For this reason, I offer initial appointments that are free of charge if you decide not to work with me. I welcome your inquiries.
I have over 10 years of experience working with hundreds of college-age clients from all walks of life. With my background as both a special education teacher and college and career counselor, I enjoy helping clients explore their identity, increase self-confidence and autonomy, and overcome fears (or whatever else is blocking them from living well). As a therapist, most of the clients I see experience OCD, anxiety, and neurodivergence. I tailor treatment to my clients’ individual needs and create a warm, supportive environment in sessions where they can truly be themselves without judgment.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist in private practice. I work mainly through insight-oriented psychotherapy, but I also offer diagnostic evaluations and prescribing services. Patients see me for a variety of concerns around self-esteem, trauma, attachment, dependency, boundaries, self-criticism, and childhood abuse/neglect. These issues may lead to shame, guilt, anxiety, irritability, mood swings, perfectionism, self-loathing, or repeated conflicts with family, colleagues, or romantic partners. Therapy is a chance to think carefully together about your past and present experiences to deepen your insight into your situation. As we come to understand your inner world, I hope you will gradually notice a greater sense of flexibility, freedom, and openness to life's many joys and challenges. As a psychiatrist, I am happy to help with diagnostic clarification and medical treatment of most general psychiatric conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, and others. While medications alone often fail to address the deeper conflicts and traumas that cause our symptoms, a thoughtful approach to prescribing can help build a foundation for the personal work that leads to lasting change. I have special experience working with university students and early career professionals in medicine, academia, law, tech, and the arts. I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and I welcome and affirm those who may identify as LGBTQIA+ or neurodivergent.
I was raised in a commune-style farm setting in rural Pennsylvania, and earned my BA from Middlebury College and then my MA in counseling psychology from Lesley College. I am currently pursuing her certificate in Modern Psychoanalysis at the Academy for Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis in Livingston, NJ. I am a mother of three and a longtime practitioner of yoga, meditation, and Jin Shin Jyutsu (Japanese acupressure). These practices inform my interest in the well-being of the whole person. I provide a safe and comfortable space where you can explore the parts of your life that you value and also the parts you may want to change. My approach is to cultivate a sense of curiosity and kindness while supporting you in saying whatever is on your mind. As we put our thoughts and feelings into words, we tend to grow more comfortable in ourselves, even in the midst of discomfort. We may find ourselves in more positive relationships at home, at school, and at work. We may find more clarity about how we want to live our lives. Whether in person or online, I see the therapeutic process as a catalyst for reflection, exploration, self-understanding, and personal growth. Together, we will work to understand the richness of who you are and resolve whatever is getting in the way of achieving your personal and professional goals.
