In our work together it is my ultimate goal to help you overcome life's challenges and experience a vital, joyful and purposeful life. My clinical training is deeply rooted in a humanistic/holistic approach to treatment and utilizes many experientially based interventions. My style is solution focused, yet creative. A licensed clinician of 32 years, I have worked extensively with adolescents, young adults, families and couples, addressing a multitude of mental health concerns. I invite you to call for a free 15 minute consult to see if I may be a good fit based on your unique needs. I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship itself can be innately healing, and that establishing rapport quickly is crucial to supporting you in the work we do together. Having recently relocated from New Jersey where I still work via Telehealth, I am now accepting clients in Colorado as well. I hope to meet you, and wish you the best on your healing journey.
My practice begins with a kind, compassionate and safe introduction to the therapy process. We will explore what you want in your life and how to get there. Together we will follow your questions, concerns and goals, so you can discover new options. These are some of the questions we can explore. How can I make decisions that lead to a clear purpose? Why do I feel depressed? What is all this anxiety about? What can I do to feel better now? Drawing on eastern and western psychology, we will work together to develop the tools and inner resources to achieve your life goals including learning self compassion, and developing awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors - through traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, creating art, and journaling. Please see my psychology today profile for more information and a complete list of insurance I accept.
I have over 10 years of experience working with hundreds of college-age clients from all walks of life. With my background as both a special education teacher and college and career counselor, I enjoy helping clients explore their identity, increase self-confidence and autonomy, and overcome fears (or whatever else is blocking them from living well). As a therapist, most of the clients I see experience OCD, anxiety, and neurodivergence. I tailor treatment to my clients’ individual needs and create a warm, supportive environment in sessions where they can truly be themselves without judgment.

Have you ever wondered what therapy could be like using art materials and activities? I support college students and young adults use the power of creativity to process emotions, gain insight, work through challenges, and overcome hardships through transformative art. My style is relational, collaborative, and mindful. My clients describe me as: Grounded, relatable, supportive, humorous, comforting, non-judgmental, and patient. Using materials like paint, clay, and pastel, you'll explore your emotions, build self esteem, take healthy risks, problem solve, and sometimes just play and discover! You'll also practice coping skills, mindfulness, body awareness, relational skills, boundary setting, identifying/processing/regulating emotions, & dive into how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. I personally know what it’s like to deeply struggle through teen and young adult years. And I know what it’s like to receive help, work through it, and come out on the other side empowered. Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or like they’re “stuck” in patterns they understand but can’t seem to change. You may notice yourself pushing through stress, overthinking, shutting down, avoiding conflict, or feeling out of touch with how you actually feel. Many of us were never taught how to understand our emotions, regulate anxiety, or listen to what our bodies are trying to communicate. We learn to push through stress, become disconnected from ourselves, or rely on coping patterns that once helped us survive but no longer serve us. While traditional talk therapy focuses on changing thoughts or understanding patterns, somatic therapy includes working with emotions, nervous system responses, and physical sensations in the body. Together, we slow down and begin building a more compassionate and curious relationship with your internal experience rather than fighting against it. I integrate Somatic Experiencing®, Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)–informed approaches, with attention to how past relationships and nervous system patterns show up in the present. Sessions are paced to help you notice what’s happening internally, build capacity for difficult emotions, and unwind long-held stress and tension. With over 17 years of clinical experience, I help clients feel more ease, aliveness, and connection to themselves and others—especially those who continue to feel “stuck” even after years of therapy.
I spent much of my adult life working in Emergency Medicine as a Paramedic before going to the Physician Assistant program at Loma Linda University in Southern California. After graduating from there in 2018, I spent the past five years working in addiction medicine in a residential treatment program in Boulder, Colorado. Working in addiction medicine, I commonly assisted adult patients, of all ages, dealing with anxiety, depression, cravings, withdrawal symptoms and sleep challenges. Patients would often come to me wanting to reduce their amount of medications to just what was helpful and necessary and I would take a lot of pride in helping them achieve that goal. Genetic testing provides a helpful tool to initially choose, change or adjust a dose of a particular medication. I believe that it is important to meet an individual where they are in the healing process and to address the whole person rather than just the presenting problem or symptom. To address the “whole person” requires getting a detailed history and a partnership between patient and provider. Establishing such a partnership gives me great joy.
