Therapists for college students near 77005
I work with couples so that they can achieve the most healthy and happy relationship that they can have.
Hi, nice to meet you! I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. As your therapist, it is my goal to see you become a better and stronger version of yourself. It is my belief that life's experiences teach us things that may no longer be the most helpful or true today; even if they were true at the time in our past. When we don't adapt and remain flexible, we find ourselves in a web of mistaken beliefs, thinking errors and unresolved and unprocessed life problems. As a result, it becomes too hard to find our way and manage life's challenges in the here-and-now. I love to be present and help my clients find a new way and authentically experience change. I've worked with clients from many walks of life and with varied needs. My areas of expertise are in Anxiety, Depression, Women Issues, Life Transition, Christian Counseling and Self-Esteem issues. I use an Eclectic and Holistic approach to help my clients bring out the best in themselves. I like to use humor, challenging questions, and a warm open-minded approach. My favorite activities when I'm not at work are to explore and appreciate the outdoors by traveling, yoga, shopping, and spending time with my family and dog, and trying new exciting restaurants. Selecting a therapist can be difficult because it's not easy to know exactly who you are getting. "Will this person really know what she is talking about? Is she a total Quack? Will she actually be able to help me?" These questions are the norm for clients and uncertainty comes with the territory of what you are searching for. It's my hope that we will make a great team and you will become a better and stronger version of yourself.

I am Alexandra Patricia (Tricia) Adams, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate (LPC-A), supervised by April West, LPC-S. I am located in Grand Prairie, Texas, between Dallas and Ft. Worth, and can work with clients throughout the entire state of Texas. I obtained my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in English – Technical Writing. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University. I specialize in individual, couples, and group therapy, and practice within several treatment areas. I was born in Dallas and raised in Quitman, located in East Texas. I began my career as a medical assistant and have been an allied health professional for over forty-five years. I spent twenty years of my career as a medical assisting instructor, and another twenty years as the author of Kinn’s: The Administrative Medical Assistant and co-author of Kinn’s: The Medical Assistant. I have authored four editions of both textbooks. This project totaled sixteen texts, including student study workbooks, instructor resource books, test banks, lectures/presentations, and procedure guidelines. I believe that anyone can benefit from the counseling process. It is my hope that my clients will grow through this process and live happier lives. According to the American Psychological Association, mental health therapy can help a person going through a challenging life event or situation, treat mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and address symptoms like sadness, guilt, or anger. The process is also helpful when dealing with relationships with family, friends, and coworkers. I work with adults and adolescents, as well as couples and groups. I have found a niche working with first responders experiencing moral injury, generational trauma and estrangement, adoption, abortion, and miscarriage issues, chronic pain, DNA testing matters, grief, loss, and suicide prevention, intimacy issues, legal/offender issues, overcoming church hurt or past abuse, parental alienation, sexual assault/rape, and low self-esteem and self-confidence. I would be honored to work with you as you begin to live your best life. Counseling can help you as you confront long-standing life issues, or specific concerns that need to be addressed. The length of counseling can range from several weeks to several months, depending on the number of issues that will be discussed. Contact me for a complementary consultation and take the step forward to a richer, more rewarding future.

My ideal client is someone ready to do the work and is willing to challenge themselves as well as enjoy the benefits of the work we'll be doing together. Happiness is not an act of human will, otherwise we'd all choose to be happy. When working with me, we will discover together how we become happy if not by merely willing it to happen. Hopefully you enjoy a relaxed and open atmosphere, speaking with a therapist in a conversational style where you don't need to censor yourself or feel as though you will be coerced to say or do something you don't want to. My treatment methods have ranged from group, individual, and couples' counseling with tools ranging from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy. I like to provide care for the whole person and tailor your treatment to what works best for you. I received my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from TAMUCC, since then I have worked with many extraordinary people. I have experience with addiction, behavioral modification, resolving issues with anxiety and depression, and anger management.
I work with clients who may be struggling with depression or anxiety related to various life stressors, including parenting kids with special needs. In our sessions, we will identify the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms and sustained improvement long term"

I am a relational therapist integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic-informed practices. Virtual sessions. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends. Discounted rates when requested. My speciality areas include: - Grief (Infertility, loss of a loved one, breakups, unfulfilled goals) - Burnout - Complex Family Dynamics - Life Transitions (Motherhood, Career Changes) - Attachment trauma - Pressure that come with a high-demand career My approach to therapy is collaborative and follows a thoughtful process. Together, we explore the roots of your feelings. Often, feelings point to underlying needs, so you and I identify the unmet need your feelings may be drawing attention to. Understanding your feelings is foundational, yet insight alone does not always guide lasting change. Next, we intentionally support your mind and body to process and release emotional tension. Throughout this process, I create a supportive, trusting space where your nervous system can feel secure and you can explore your authentic self. I strive to meet clients where they are, walking alongside them with kindness, empathy, presence, and unwavering commitment to their well-being. I value respectful, kind, direct communication. When requested, I provide Christian counseling, integrating Scripture and the Gospel in a God-honoring space. I'm here to support whatever goals you have for yourself. Emily Keck, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas under the supervision of Casey Davids, LPC-S and LPCA in Kentucky under supervision of Erica Adams, LPCC-S.
It takes courage to begin this process, and I’m honored to walk with you as you navigate whatever brought you here, at your own pace and in your own way. I specialize in working with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, grief, or life transitions, and are looking for a space where they don’t have to explain or translate who they are. They want to feel a genuine sense of belonging — not just in therapy, but in the world. These clients value connection, emotional safety, and authenticity. When the time feels right for you, I’ll be here and ready to support you. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), emphasizing practical strategies, emotional understanding, and meaningful progress. While these frameworks guide my work, I recognize that each person is unique—so I tailor every session to align with your individual needs, values, and goals. As a counselor, I’m deeply committed to creating a supportive and inclusive space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered. My passion for mental and emotional well-being drives me to walk alongside clients with empathy and respect, helping them navigate challenges, build resilience, and move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life. In our work together, I strive to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and collaborative. My communication style is warm, direct, and grounded in empathy. I take a person-centered approach, which means I listen without judgment and honor your experiences, values, and goals. At the same time, I draw from solution-focused techniques to help you identify strengths, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
In a few weeks, you could be unstuck from what’s holding you back. Let’s get started. If you’ve never been in therapy, I’ll make this easy. If you're coming back, I’ll honor what you already know. We’ll get to know each other and understand what you'd like to change. During our sessions, you will always be the expert in how your life works, and I’ll share with you a research-based approach to creating mental health. We'll work toward goals as a team, in a process that fits your unique background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation identity, religious affiliation); respecting your values is important to me. I use treatments that we know work. These therapies not only help you overcome problems you’re experiencing right now, but I’ll teach you skills to resolve future problem that might come your way, too. While handling emotions in a new way might feel strange, I’ll be there to walk you through the process. I completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Utah, and fellowship in trauma psychology at the South Texas VA. You’re the strong one — the responsible one — the one who learned early how to hold it together. You navigate different spaces, code-switching when needed, carrying family expectations while trying to build relationships that feel healthy and secure. You’re self-aware, but old attachment patterns still show up. You’re ready to understand what shaped you and create connection that feels safe, mutual, and authentic. I provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapy for Black and Brown Millennials and Gen Z adults and couples. Using EMDR and relational therapy, we process generational and relational wounds so you can shift patterns at their root — not just manage the symptoms. You don’t have to keep carrying everything alone. Many of your patterns were learned for survival — they make sense. Therapy offers space to unlearn what no longer serves you and build something healthier. If you’re ready for intentional, culturally responsive depth work, I invite you to reach out.
I am a board certified psychiatrist and provide combined psychotherapy and medication treatment. My patients are typically looking for therapy to address concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. They are also often looking for support with evidence-based medication treatment. I listen carefully to understand the difficulties that bring someone to treatment and to understand their goals. I am collaborative in my approach. I approach psychotherapy from a psychodynamic perspective, where the goal is to increase understanding and insight into thoughts, feelings, and behavior. When we can understand ourselves better, we can then change patterns that may be getting in our way. This type of therapy can often lead to lasting change. Please note that because my practice is telehealth only, I do not prescribe controlled substances (for example, stimulants for ADHD or medications such as Xanax or Ativan for anxiety).
Hi there—I’m Odira, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience guiding students and young adults through life’s twists and turns. That’s why I blend person-centered, holistic, and eclectic approaches to create a space that’s uniquely yours. You know your story best—I’m here to listen, offer fresh perspectives, and partner with you to build practical tools for navigating transitions, strengthening connections, and fostering growth. Together, we navigate the complexities of the mind, empowering you to cultivate inner strength and resilience on your path towards healing.
Throughout life, we are constantly growing, changing, and evolving. Navigating these transitions can bring about uncomfortable feelings or challenge us to learn something new about ourselves. You may be a young adult learning how to live independently, a new parent, trying to start a family, looking for a career change, or just wanting to improve your current relationships. No matter what stage of life you are in, you are brave to look for support and I am glad you’re here. I believe working through and processing difficulties can bring hope, healing, and ultimately growth. I work to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space and to collaborate with clients helping them find their identity, their strengths, their passions and help to understand their value so that they reach their therapeutic goals. Ultimately my hope is that my clients, regardless of age, will reach a level of self-acceptance where they feel empowered and lead fulfilling lives with meaningful relationships.
