I believe that everyone deserves the chance to flourish in life. Life throws us curveballs, often causing us to lose sight of who we are and what we need to feel worthy and successful. My main priority with clients is to create a safe space, free from judgment and criticism. I utilize a multitude of counseling theories in my work, but always practice from a client-centered foundation, in which I work to empower my clients to take an active role in their treatment. I believe there is value in collaboration, and I want to work together to navigate through the challenges that come up. Growing up as a competitive athlete, I experienced firsthand the impact that academic and athletic pressures can have on the body and mind. I played Division I soccer at the collegiate level, and therefore, have a speciality of working with athletes. I use my personal experiences with mental health to connect authentically with clients.

I specialize in the assessment of neurological, developmental and learning challenges. As a neuropsychologist and certified school psychologist, most of my time is spent on neuropsychological evaluations for educational purposes, helping students with developmental delays, learning disabilities, ADHD and brain injuries, including concussions. Over the years, my services have grown with my patients to include services for adults with these same challenges as well. I am on staff at Doylestown Hospital and, as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), I serve as the neuropsychological consultant to the Bucks County IU’s BrainSTEPS Program, where we work to help students with concussions and severe brain injuries re-enter school successfully.

The Centered Brain is the biofeedback and neurofeedback portion of The Center, LLC. We are a full service biofeedback and psychology practice offering individual, family, group, and couples therapy, in addition to nutritional counseling with our Registered Dietician. Using a team approach, our clinical staff incorporates psychotherapeutic and biofeedback techniques to assist clients in developing and maintaining minds and bodies that respond to the world around them with thoughtfulness and flexibility.
Empathetic, but effective, Dr. Penny Levin is a clinician with more than 25 years of experience who is uniquely qualified to help you through a host of stressful situations. Dr. Levin is a psychologist and a personal trainer/nutrition specialist, and has co-authored chapters in two Sport Psychology textbooks. Her understanding of the mind and body allow her to assist athletes struggling with performance or an injury, students in the throes of a career crisis, and people dealing with day-to-day stress. Dr. Levin has served on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Medical Quality, is an Adjunct Professor at Temple University, and is an FAA Certified Flight instructor. She regularly writes and presents on stress management, health/fitness and aviation safety, and is a nationwide presenter for the Air Safety Institute.

Although I work with a variety of issues, my primary clinical focus is trauma, emotional abuse, affairs and betrayal traumas, existential crisis and restoration/deepening of the relationship one has with him/her/their self. Simply, I am interested in helping individuals and couples restore their sense of safety, re-establish their sense of self, re-discover their place in relationships and the world, and find meaning in life.
