Therapists for college students near Philadelphia, PA
I see patients ages 18+ for initial evaluations and medication management. I have 10 years of experience in the mental health field, including providing medication management/therapy at a university counseling center, evaluating patients in a crisis response center, and providing medication management/therapy in outpatient private practice and community mental health settings. Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is able to accommodate both in-office and Telemedicine Virtual Psychiatric Appointments. I am experienced in the medical treatment of depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, trauma disorders, and others. I can help patients switch or taper off of psychiatric medications. I prefer to use the least amount of medication possible for patients. I truly enjoy helping people feel like themselves again. I am a down-to-earth, understanding, and informative provider for my patients. I take a holistic approach. Recommendations may include medication, therapy, changes to diet, activity, lifestyle, and sleep hygiene. Patient education is important to me; all steps recommended are explained thoroughly.

Finding treatment is an arduous task, and I commend you for it. I focus on finding solutions and am confident we can be a good fit, so let's start the conversation.
I am a highly qualified psychotherapist-counselor and licensed clinical social worker. I have extensive experience in mental health and have developed a deep understanding of the complexities of the human mind. I am committed to helping people navigate complex emotional and psychological issues. If you’re struggling with any kind of mental health issue, I am here to help you. I am currently pursuing Linehan Certification in DBT. I am also presenting a Certification in CBT at the Beck Institute. Additionally, I am working on becoming a Registered Play Therapist at the Family Play Therapy Center in Philadelphia. Many of the students I work with are used to functioning well despite feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally worn down. Some are struggling with trauma, difficult family relationships, or recurring patterns in their relationships that they don't fully understand. Others are trying to manage ADHD while balancing school, work, research, or family responsibilities. I'm also interested in working with students who are trying to make sense of themselves in the context of the world around them. That might include questions about identity, culture, community, or the emotional impact of social and political events. If you're someone who feels deeply affected by what's happening around you, therapy can be a place to think through those experiences rather than carrying them by yourself. My approach is collaborative and guided by curiosity. I don't assume there are quick answers or a single right way to do therapy. Sometimes our work is about understanding the patterns that keep repeating in your life. Other times it's about dealing with whatever is most pressing right now. Most of the time, it's both.
I help young adults with difficult life transitions, identity development, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, family discords, as well as stress related to race, gender and sexuality. I aim to support you in self discovery and guide you in navigating life challenges. I strive to create and provide a space that is compassionate, supportive and collaborative. I value working with clients from a diverse background and cultural identities. I advocate for young adults, especially those who are marginalized. My work is person centered. I help facilitate your self exploration and acceptance, and lead you towards healing and growth. I tailor my approach towards each individual’s needs, using cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and strength based therapy. It is a true privilege for me to get to know each of my clients and to witness changes and even transformations for young adults. Please feel free to reach out with questions or set up a phone consultation. I am here to listen, relate and help. You can find more information on my website at www.wangmiranda.com

Therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of what’s been shaping you - especially when familiar ways of coping no longer feel helpful. People often come to therapy during periods of change, relational stress, or when old patterns start to feel heavy or confusing. You don’t need to have clear answers to begin; therapy offers space to reflect, understand yourself more deeply, and decide how you want to move forward. My approach is grounded in understanding how family dynamics, culture, identity, and broader social systems shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. As a queer Palestinian- American woman, I bring lived experience and clinical training into my work and strive to offer care that is thoughtful, affirming, and nonjudgmental. In therapy, we will move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we may look back at the experiences and relationships that have shaped you, while also building clarity, self-trust, and support in the present. Sessions can be challenging at times, and I offer a steady, compassionate presence as you work toward lasting change. I invite you to reach out.
Hi-- I am Alaina. I am a therapist with a specialization in the treatment of OCD and other neurodivergent disorders such as ADHD and ASD. I work with clients to access freedom from their anxiety. Through the use of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), I colloboarte with clients to develop tolerance of their levels of distress. It is never shocking to hear that life is scary and uncertain. I do not aim to expel those fears, but rather help you see that -all feelings- are temporary and in reaching out for help, you are showcasing the very first step in unhooking from fears or core beliefs that prevent you from leading a values driven life.
We started this practice because we love what we do: helping people grow. Here at Blue Creek, we offer individual, couples and family therapy. We serve children through geriatric populations. In addition, we offer comprehensive psychological testing services. We bring decades of collective service and want to offer you a unique therapeutic experience from beginning to end. Our immediate goal is for you to feel welcomed from your first contact with our office.
People make the decision to engage in therapy for a multitude of reasons, all of which are valid. Some people may be ambivalent about making changes in their lives, while others might feel eager and ready to start the process. Regardless of where you find yourself on that continuum, I am here to support you. Although my background has mainly been focused around eating and body image, I see clients who are experiencing a variety of concerns: relationship issues, anxiety/depression, life transitions, unhappiness, etc. Prior to private practice, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Service, with a specialty in supporting student-athletes and individuals with eating and body image concerns. I have also worked in psychiatric inpatient programs as well as eating disorder treatment programs. My therapeutic style is integrative, which means that our work together will draw on various approaches determined by your concerns and goals. My hope is for us to build a trusting relationship that will allow for honest reflection, helpful challenge, and ultimately positive change so that you may be able to lead a more fulfilling life.
Therapy can be an intimidating journey, and getting started can often feel overwhelming. My hope is to build a therapeutic relationship that feels open, trusting, and supportive, so we can really focus on the challenges that have brought you to this point. Navigating young adulthood can be exhilarating and exciting, but can also lead to fear, worry, and challenges related to leaving home, taking on new roles, and learning about the world in a new way. Sometimes this transition can be hard as you figure out and learn about the different parts of yourself in emerging adulthood. I am excited to walk alongside you as you take this new step towards growth and healing. I believe my clients are experts on their lived experience. I believe my clients deserve trauma informed, inclusive, and affirming care.

I want the people I work with to feel they can live more authentically, manage their own mental health, and work through stress and burnout that gets in the way. My name is Sam, and here at Dandelion Counseling I hope to support you through all stages of life from bud to fluff with humility and kindness. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Behavioral Specialist (LBS) and have been in the mental health field for 14 years. I believe all humans deserve respect, and the ability to be supported in their journey of life. I hope to provide a place for individuals I work with to feel safe, affirmed, and to move through each length of their journey in their own way. When I seek clients I look for individuals who are ready to take that first step into whatever is next, or might be curious as to what that step might look like. I'm here to meet you where you are, and be there with you. I believe that all individuals in their mental health should be able to hold autonomy, and choose which path is right for them. I encourage an individualized approach to each person, and that we work as a team. It is important to me that each person has the ability to chart their own course, and feel that they have a an open, as well as a supportive place. I hope that you will join me and continue to explore what this life has to offer. There is nothing quite so precious as the steps we take to get to know ourselves in each length of the journey we are on. I can't promise answers to life's mysteries, but I can assure those I work with that I will do my best to remain humble, and to be open to possibilities.
