Hello! Searching for a therapist can be an overwhelming task. I am hoping to make this a bit easier for you. I currently have availability on Tuesdays during day the day (9:30-3:30). Telehealth sessions are offered to accommodate your needs. I hope to help you in building coping skills and to challenge difficult thoughts and patterns you may find yourself experiencing. My objectives are to individualize your care, help you to develop and work towards your long-term goals, and also process through the general difficulties that every day life presents.
In our work together, you'll have a non-judgmental space to explore whatever is holding you back, while also taking steps toward change and a more fulfilling future. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, and low self-esteem. I became a therapist after 20 years in mental health research, where I gained a deep appreciation for the many factors that influence whether we are just surviving or fully thriving – spanning our life experiences, relationships, communities, and environment. I bring that curiosity to my work with clients, along with warmth, empathy, a sense of humor, and practical tools. We will use evidence-based approaches and a person-centered, empowering philosophy. You are a whole person and not a set of symptoms or a diagnosis. We’ll focus on building concrete skills to get you through difficult moments, always anchoring our sessions with curiosity, kindness, humor, and a deep respect for what matters most to you.

College and graduate school can stretch you academically, mentally, and emotionally. When stress, burnout, or self-doubt start to pile up, that stretch can feel more like a breaking point. I work with students to navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, trauma, life transitions, and challenges that can come with disability. I also support people adjusting to new environments, including the shift from rural backgrounds into more urban, academic settings. Together, we’ll look at where you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed and build practical skills to help you clear those hurdles and reconnect with what matters to you. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). In practice, this means we’ll use a blend of tools to help you understand your thoughts and reactions, make sense of your experiences, and respond in ways that feel more manageable and effective. I will tailor our work to your personal goals, because your idea of accomplishment is what matters to me. If you’re interested, we can also bring in elements of Geek Therapy® (using movies, games, or other examples of popular culture) to make therapy feel more relatable and engaging. If you’ve been dealing with mental fatigue, cognitive overload, or a life-altering diagnosis, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. We can work together to help you feel more balanced, confident, and prepared for your next chapter, whether that’s graduation or the following academic term. Reaching out can be the most difficult step in this process. Let’s start a conversation and design a treatment plan just for you.

I'll provide feedback that may include asking you to look at the problem a different way, learning to tolerate difficult feelings, or learning skills, such as relaxation. I ask that you come prepared to session with ideas of what we should focus on. I respect the time and effort you put nto therapy, and I want it to be used in a way that is valuable to you.If you've gotten this far and think I can help, please feel free to call or email me. I offer all prospective clients a free 15-minute phone consultation.

I have over 4 years of clinical experience across outpatient, residential, and school-based settings. In my clinical work, I often partner with clients experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, trauma, and identity and adjustment issues. Therapy with me is grounded in deep empathy, creativity, curiosity, and a belief that meaningful change happens through safe, collaborative relationships. My goal is to help clients build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, values-aligned change. Alongside my clinical work, I am also a doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Pennsylvania State University where I am pursuing research interests of social justice and systemic change in counseling and religious/spiritual abuse. Through teaching, research, and practice, I value providing therapy that is affirming, trauma-informed, and responsive to each client’s unique culture, context, and experiences. Outside of work, I am a curious, playful, and nature-loving person. I love hiking with my partner, reading, and having a good laugh.

Stephanie is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified School Counselor for children in grades K-12. She holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Developmental Psychology. Prior to working at Cornerstone Wellness, she was a School Counselor for 12 years in a public-school setting and also spent two years prior to that working as a School Counselor at a Cyber-School. Stephanie did mental health counseling in a private practice setting and worked at the post-secondary level as an Academic Advisor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh as well. She is very passionate about working with young adults and strongly believes that all people are deserving of love and respect. "In order for positive change to happen, we need to work together as a team to support your goals of achieving happiness, success, balance, and peace. I know that this season of life can come with many challenges but I vow to work closely with you to create a therapeutic plan that we both feel comfortable with". Stephanie's therapeutic approach is centered around a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model which helps people to understand how their thoughts and emotions affect their behaviors. Her goal is to help her clients learn how to replace their negative thought patterns with more productive ones which will then, in turn, change their behaviors. She knows that teaching people how to shift their mindsets and how to discover new ways of thinking will help them to respond differently to life's stressors and ultimately improve their overall well-being. Stephanie understands that counseling can seem "scary" at first but prides herself on making sessions collaborative and relaxed. She wants therapy to be a safe place where her clients can feel comfortable to just be themselves! "I truly love what I do and I see it as a privilege to witness the change and growth that can happen for my clients as they move through therapy. With that being said, I hope to become a person that they trust and look forward to spending time with."

Hello! Throughout my ten years in the mental health field, I have worked in settings that range from inpatient to outpatient, as well as school and mobile. My clients represent all stages across the lifespan. My passion is helping clients to address a variety of needs, many of which stem from prior traumatic or dysfunctional patterns, as well as to help them find a more fulfilling balance. I often see clients suffer from imposter and/or Wonder Woman syndrome, frequently manifesting as suicidal ideation, depression, and/or anxiety. I use an integrated approach rooted in feminist theory, and that focuses on how trauma currently shows up in our lives. I find this is crucial to break the cycle. I believe that clients of all genders are harmed by societal norms, roles, and stigmas; we all can benefit from working to break down those barriers for the sake of healthy emotional expression. There is nothing better in my line of work than watching clients heal and grow to become thrivers - their own champions. Please reach out to discuss a potential relationship!

I work well with individuals who are motivated and ready to transform by providing practical, research based tools and interventions that can help alleviate symptoms like stress, anxiety, sadness or irritability. I often encourage clients to continue our work outside of the therapy hour to expedite progress. I have 15 years of experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan in various settings including outpatient, home, school, community mental health, and crisis support. I help clients understand thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, blending somatic approaches, mindfulness and other therapeutic techniques to repair the body-mind connection and facilitate healing. Known for my calm, grounding presence, I bring authenticity, humor, and intuition into my work. Drawing on my knowledge as a Reiki Master and yoga teacher, I incorporate holistic practices such as relaxation, breathwork, and embodiment. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community with lived experience managing the chronic pain of endometriosis, I bring both clinical expertise and personal understanding to my work. I believe in the inherent dignity and worth that each of us carries and in our innate capacity for healing.
My training and orientation are mainly psychodynamic, but I utilize multiple theories and techniques, including mindfulness, family systems, as well as my background in cultural anthropology. I mainly work with grief, stress, anxiety, trauma, immigration and relocation, relationships, as well as LGBTQ+ and couples/family issues.
