If you have ADHD, you might feel like typical strategies just don’t work. That can be incredibly frustrating leading to more arguments, more stress, and a growing sense of overwhelm or uncertainty about the future. You may have already tried working with other providers and felt like nothing really changed. You’re looking for someone who truly understands ADHD, someone who can offer strategies that actually stick, while also holding you accountable in a supportive way. Managing ADHD is tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. I can help make the process easier. With specialized training from top ADHD clinics, I bring evidence-based strategies to help you better understand ADHD and build practical skills that support your well-being. My approach is goal-oriented and backed by research designed to give you clear, measurable progress over weeks not years. Therapy doesn’t have to be a long-term commitment. From the very beginning, we’ll work together to set clear goals and a plan to reach them. My priority is helping you gain the tools you need to thrive. And if you’re on the fence about starting, schedule a free consultation call to ensure it’s the right fit.
Therapy should provide a safe space free from judgment where you can seek support, be genuine, feel heard and grow into the person you want to be. In sessions, we will work together to identify your unique abilities, strengths and successes. We will explore how to use those strengths and abilities to process past events, feel better, achieve your goals and live a life that feels meaningful to you. My integrative approach is strengths based and person centered with elements of evidence based approaches including CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and EMDR. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, teens and young adults who are dealing with anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, depression, parenting issues, life transitions, effects of trauma and relationship struggles. I am trained in EMDR via EMDR Consulting, an EMDR International Association Approved Training Provider. I look forward to meeting with you!

We all want to be happy. We may feel stuck or face challenges. Getting support from someone on the outside, in the counseling or psychology field, can help you gain a new perspective. You can learn to make better choices, feel less anxious and feel more optimistic; find peace in the day-to-day. During my 17 years experience as a counselor and research clinician, I was trained to utilize several semi-structured interviewing tools such as KSADS, SCID, and ISCA-D. I have published social psychology testing materials at the University of Pittsburgh while working on several major nationally-funded depression and anxiety studies under Doctors Birmaher, Axelson, and Kovacs. In 2010, I spent a year as a volunteer with the Good Grief Center of Pittsburgh where I had extensive training in grief counseling. In addition to my clinical skills, I hold a substance abuse education/SAP certification from UPMC. My passion is working with clients who struggle with eating concerns and body image issues. I have experience with anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. I can also help if you feel that your relationship with food and/or exercise is complicated but have not been diagnosed with an eating disorder. I have always enjoyed connecting with people and learning about their experiences. I knew I wanted to go into the field when I was a senior in high school. From that point on, my education and training have centered on being the best therapist I can be. I have worked in hospitals, schools, and mental health agencies to gain a variety of experiences and expertise. From working in different settings, I knew I had a natural inclination to help my clients feel at ease and make therapy not only helpful but enjoyable.Since I have experienced therapy, I know what it is like to be on the other side. I appreciate a nonjudgmental approach with kindness and humor sprinkled in at the appropriate times. I believe therapy does not have to be serious all the time. Growth comes from support, understanding, and compassion.
I work with individuals and couples/relationships that are dealing with stress, anxiety, perfectionism and people-pleasing, are struggling to figure out where they fit in the world, or who just need a place to be heard as their authentic selves. Many of my clients are those who have sit and stew in their thoughts for hours, who feel like they must be the only ones who are "this" anxious, and who can't seem to get to a place of "calm" - like, ever. I believe that by working together, we CAN shift those patterns. I've seen it - in myself and in my clients - and I already believe in you.

I am a white, genderqueer Licensed Associate Professional Counselor. I have experience working with queer people, people living after relational/sexual violence, and people who are interested in exploring issues that matter deeply to them, whether that is what gets called depression, trauma, anxiety, or simply a desire to explore. Authenticity, genuine human connection, and co-authorship are the pillars of how I consider client/counselor relationships, and I will bring a spirit of high regard, non-pathology, curiosity, and playfulness. Ultimately, I work to create a collaborative, co-authoring relationship with people who want more options and more say in their lives. Theoretically, I am driven by narrative, systems, and queer feminist thought. The world we live in is shaped by structures of power, including the knowledge we have about ourselves, our problems, and our options. Using narrative practices, I will work with you to investigate where that knowledge comes from and what alternate knowledge might be possible. In addition, I borrow freely from other approaches/modalities, and have experience in using trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

I also have experience working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, and OCD, and those dealing with life transitions, including transition to and out of college, changes in identity and changes in religion/loss of faith.
