Relationships can be hard. Communication can be challenging. Feeling anxious, uncertain, directionless, or out-of-control can feel overwhelming and at times debilitating. It is so easy to become stuck in a cycle of frustration or hopelessness which creates thought loops fixated on these feelings. It can feel impossible to see what lies beyond the immediate struggles we can’t seem to work through. While most of us feel the need to address these struggles, so few of us have the time or energy to “fix” these stuck points and successfully move past them. That’s where I step in to help. If interested, please send me an email and we'll schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we're a good fit.

Over the last 13 years of being a therapist I’ve had the privilege to meet and treat so many people, each of whom was on their own journey to better mental health and now my own career journey has led me here. I started Caim Counseling as a place for people to address their mental health so that they can be empowered to heal. I believe strongly in meeting people where they’re at and tailoring mental health care treatment to what each individual needs. I have an eclectic approach which leans towards Person-Centered therapy and have done additional work in areas like women’s issues, eating disorders, anxiety, grief, and LGBTQIA+ specific concerns. I believe strongly in the equality of all people and am committed to having an inclusive practice. I can’t wait to meet you and see how we can work together to get you to a place of better mental health.

I love working with clients who want to better themselves. Whether it be understanding yourself or your identity, conquering anxiety, or working through relationships, I partner with clients to reach their goals and set themselves up for success. Some mental health concerns that I can help with include: ADHD, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, identity (including LGBT, religion, and others), imposter syndrome, and more. Clients can expect a younger therapist who isn’t afraid to use humor and who isn’t afraid to call out potential stuck points. I am also culturally competent and offer services in both English and Spanish.
Welcome! At OCD & Anxiety Specialist, LLC, we help college students who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, intrusive thoughts, and constant overthinking. Our therapists use active, evidence-based approaches to help students understand these patterns, build practical skills, and spend less time caught in anxiety, avoidance, reassurance-seeking, and compulsive behaviors. Whether you're struggling with academic stress, relationship anxiety, OCD, panic, or simply feeling mentally exhausted from trying to keep up, therapy can help you move forward with greater confidence and flexibility. Our practice offers virtual therapy throughout Pennsylvania, with in-person services also available in Irwin. I often work with individuals in recovery, teens, college students, young adults, and more. I work with LGBTQIA+ individuals focusing on self-discovery, empowerment, and identity exploration. I also work with individuals struggling with religious trauma or spiritual concerns.
I am a Harvard-trained, Harvard-affiliated, board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I strongly believe that the best psychiatric care is centered on the whole person, not just on a diagnosis or a specific medication. I provide weekly therapy and work with patients to determine if medications can be of help. I do not believe that everyone needs a medication, but they can be useful in treating particular psychiatric symptoms; I will work with you in order to find the best treatment modality that meets your goals and needs. My training in psychotherapy includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Exposure/Response Prevention (Ex/RP) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. In order to offer comprehensive treatment, I do not accept insurance in my private practice. I am currently conducting sessions via telemedicine only. Please feel free to send me an email to set up a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation so I can answer any questions and see if I can be of help.
At South Hills Counseling, everything we do is guided by our four core values: These principles inform not only how we approach therapy, but also how we build our team and our business. We believe we've struck a unique balance between having a warm, family-oriented feel and the professional structure of a well-run clinic. This allows us to create a comfortable environment for clients while ensuring consistent, high-quality care. 1. Always Caring. We approach every interaction with empathy and compassion. 2. Remain Committed. We're dedicated to providing consistent, high-quality care for every client. 3. Be Inspiring. We encourage growth and positive change in both our clients and our team. 4. Forever Growing. We continually evolve our practice to better serve our community. Our mission is grounded in our greater purpose—Navigating Pathways to Wellness through Growth—which guides every aspect of how we serve our clients, support our team, and build a thriving practice. Our approach focuses on providing a private practice atmosphere without the impersonal aspects sometimes found in larger clinical settings. This creates a warm, welcoming environment where healing can truly take place.
If you are struggling to get up in the morning, overwhelmed by feelings of depression or anxiety, or have feelings of general dissatisfaction with your life, then I'd like to offer you relief. I am an experienced therapist with a warm and dedicated approach to developing a collaborative and working relationship with you.

At some point along the journey, our stories demand to be told. Whether through painful emotional and physical symptoms, relationship struggles, or other interruptive experiences, our lives catch up to us. They ask for our attention. Therapy is a place where, together, we can pay closer attention to your story and the person you are becoming. We are all always in process. I believe that we can experience true healing in a human encounter, and I strive to deeply listen to my clients, bringing curiosity and attention to the parts of you that may have gone unnoticed. Approach to Therapy My counseling approach is rooted in relational psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on patterns and themes from early childhood and how they show up in your life today. This approach also emphasizes the relationship between the therapist and client as a vehicle for healing and change. It’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with, and it may take you some time to discern the right fit. I respect the vulnerability and bravery required to step into this work, and aim to meet you with humility, curiosity, and a responsible awareness of my own intersecting identities. Each person brings unique concerns and needs, and I am committed to ongoing research and training to provide the best care I can. I draw from a variety of approaches, including attachment-based therapy, family systems work, liberation psychology, Internal Family Systems (informed, not certified), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Narrative-Focused Trauma Therapy. Background: I have worked with at-risk youth, college students, and folks from all walks of life in outpatient and community mental health settings. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Theater, and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a Concentration in Trauma and Abuse from the Seattle School (2023). Outside of therapy, I enjoy lots of things, including yoga, performing arts, poetry, and being outside!

Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. I believe therapy works best as a safe and supportive partnership. Through a trusted therapeutic relationship, I aim to create a space where you can gain insight into the areas that may be keeping you stuck. I see every client as more than a diagnosis and strive to meet you where you are while guiding you toward meaningful change. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, college students, and young adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I support clients as they navigate overwhelming emotions and worries, attention and executive functioning challenges, identity exploration, interpersonal struggles, and adapting to adulthood. Together, we’ll set goals that fit your unique needs and work to build insight, healthier patterns, and practical skills that reduce stress and support a more fulfilling life. My approach blends evidence-based therapies—including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, TF-CBT, and Structural Family Therapy—with compassion and care, tailoring strategies to each individual. I welcome feedback on which interventions you find most helpful and adapt sessions to ensure your needs are met. It’s a privilege to do this work, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
