College is an exciting time, but it can also bring its fair share of stress, uncertainty, and challenges. You might feel anxious about the future, overwhelmed by responsibilities, or unsure of how to navigate the changes happening in your life. These feelings are completely valid, and you don’t have to face them alone. I specialize in somatic approaches to therapy, which help bridge the connection between your mind and body. I’ll bring empathy, patience, and affirmation into our work, and we’ll collaborate on equipping you with tools to achieve your goals. Whether you’re navigating emotional ups and downs, seeking clarity about your future, or simply needing a space to process everything, I’m here to walk with you on this journey. If you’re new to therapy, I understand it can feel like a big step. I’m happy to answer your questions and help you feel comfortable with the process. I received my M.S. In Counseling from Villanova University and pursued doctoral studies at Immaculata University. In 1994 I became a licensed psychologist and opened my own private practice in Wayne, PA. I have been an adjunct professor at Chestnut Hill College in their graduate psychology department. I completed advanced studies in Jungian psychology at the C. G. Jung Institute in Philadelphia. In 1997 I became a certified Imago Relationship therapist where my goal was to assist couples in having more conscious, loving and intimate relationships. Central to my work is a powerful self-discovery tool … the Enneagram in which I received training in 2001. I use it extensively with clients as well as outside groups where I give presentations and teach classes on the Enneagram including volunteer teaching of the Enneagram at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. In 2014 I received my certification in coaching through the Coaches Training Institute. I since have developed a coaching practice to complement the work I do in the therapeutic and counseling areas. In addition, I also give presentations and talks for married couples, parent associations, support groups, and health and wellness audiences.

Anxiety is a whole-body experience: your heart races, you feel sick to your stomach, and as hard as you might try, you can't shut off the worry thoughts. You feel disconnected from yourself and the people and things you love. You want relief from the pain, and you also want to understand why you seem to feel things more intensely than others. You'd like to life a life where anxiety and self doubt no longer hold you back, where you can overcome creative and motivational blocks and learn how to better manage "big" emotions that sometimes seem to sweep you away. You want to feel heard, seen and understood. You're not alone and there is a way out of the pain. I use compassion, humor and harnessing the power of our minds and bodies to help you make powerful and lasting shifts in how you perceive yourself and how you interact with the world. I incorporate somatic and nonverbal modalities such as yoga, music therapy and EMDR. Finding the right therapist to journey alongside you is the first step toward uncovering your strengths and building the necessary skills for navigating the uncertainties and challenges of being human. Please check out my website for more information about me and what I offer, and don't hesitate to call or email to schedule a free consultation!

We are a network of independent psychotherapists who support clients during grief and life transitions of all kinds. In our practice, we acknowledge and honor the unique journey of each individual. Our story began as colleagues at a local bereavement center where we facilitated peer support groups for children and adults, at the center and in the community. We shared a deep appreciation for the mission to provide a safe and supportive environment for grieving families. We are committed to developing a trusting alliance with our clients as we view the relationship between client and therapist as integral to successful psychotherapy. Our clients often come to us feeling vulnerable or lost. We create a safe and caring space to hold hope for our clients as we work collaboratively toward the lives they desire.

Shawn Blue, Psy.D., DCEP
I have specialized in working with college and university undergraduate and graduate students since my graduate training and I have worked in six different college and university counseling centers. I have innate knowledge about the experiences that are relevant to college and undergraduate students and it is my mission to provide support in helping navigate the journey during this integral time of development. I have experience supporting students through general academic stress and concerns as well as compounding stressors relevant to diversity, culture and identity. Finally, I understand the intersection that other factors have during the college and university experience (i.e., family, friend and romantic relationship building and conflict, social injustice, financial stress, career uncertainty, etc.)

My therapeutic approach is informed by my background in meditation, Eastern contemplative philosophy, and evolutionary psychology. I work with clients to establish a treatment plan that is uniquely sensitive to their particular clinical needs and concerns. Some of the most common techniques I employ focus on the important relationship between body and mind; these experiential, somatic, and cognitive interventions allow for critical shifts in perspective that promote meaningful and enduring behavioral change.
