Therapists for college students near 15213
CVS MInuteclinic
There are 4 Minuteclinic therapists in Pennsylvania, available via telehealth or in person, 365 days a year. All of us are licensed, experienced, caring, and motivated to help you get back to thriving. In particular, about me: I am the therapist in Jenkintown. I try to use experiential methods (such as IFS, Internal Family Systems) so that therapy isn't 'just talk'. But if you just want a good compassionate listener, I can do that too. I might be a good choice for you if your situation is complicated, if your feelings are very intense, or if this is your first time reaching out for therapy and you want to make sure it's a good experience (or if you've had bad experiences in therapy before and you want to make sure it's different this time.) Feel free to contact me to see if I'm right for you. Best wishes, Su Siegelman LCSW

Life is challenging and trying to figure out who you are, where you are going and what your purpose is, is hard enough. Then we throw in friendships, romantic relationships, careers and family dynamics and we can get overwhelmed so easily. In therapy we work together to find clarity. I have significant experience helping young adults in their 20s and 30s to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression by exploring relationship and work difficulties, figuring out adulthood, and navigate feeling lost amongst your peers. I work with college students and young professionals navigating young early adulthood. Where we go in therapy depends on you. I take my expertise and knowledge and tailor it to meet your personal needs and what would bring you relief. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which is rooted in mindfulness and self-compassion with a focus on living a life that makes you feel fulfilled. Whether this is your first time looking for a therapist or you've traveled down this road before, good for you. Asking for help requires courage. If you are looking to work with a therapist that will be interactive, non-judgmental, empathic and kind, reach out to see if we are a good fit. We will set up at 10minute call to see if we are good fit!

Do you feel held back by fear and anxiety? Do the "what ifs" or the memories of how things went wrong haunt you to the point of inaction? If so, I can help; I work with young adults to help them overcome their anxiety and past trauma to get unstuck and live their lives to the fullest. I try to balance meeting you where you are, and teaching you skills that will change behavior patterns that are no longer working for you. Therapy should be more than just "venting;" I believe it should be an active process of learning and change. If you want a therapy experience that is structured and goal-oriented, we may be a good fit. I enjoy and welcome working with students of all backgrounds, including the LGTBQIAA community. I would be happy to speak with you to see if we can become partners in your recovery journey!

Sometimes, taking the first step is the hardest! I have worked to take the pressure out of coming to therapy and established a comfortable and inviting practice, from the comfort of your own home. I work through video conferencing and strive to provide the highest quality therapy for my clients. I work with clients of all genders struggling with, but not limited to; bullying, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship struggles, and mood disorders. We will work together to build a lasting rapport, identify your strengths, as well as your short and long-term goals. My goal is for you to recognize your strongest, and truest potential, and identify strategies that work best for you to breakdown barriers that may be holding you back. Working through video conferencing allows you to feel comfortable in your therapy sessions. After all, therapy is all about what you get out of it! I offer free phone consult to get to know one another, prior to completing the intake process. Email to schedule the phone consult; bgianfagna@baftherapy.com

The world we live in is complicated and ever-changing, and the patterns we develop to address the challenges of life often cease to work for us...in fact, no strategy for living, relating to others, or to ourselves can ever work optimally forever. A depression, a personal life crisis, marital upsets and family conflicts are painful but often signal an important opportunity for self-reflection, assessment of "where I've been" in life, and the chance to create a new pathway for moving forward. This is where an expert therapist can be of value. When I work with a client, I listen to both the words of their story and also the feelings within the words. Often people have never felt free and safe to truly express themselves, to share a painful life event. Therapy can provide that opportunity. FaceTime and Skype sessions...I've been doing them for some time now. It's a great way to have an appointment when you can't get to the office, and it's also an ideal way to begin therapy and determine if I'm the right therapist for you.

Fostering Hopes Counseling
Hi! My name is Josh Foster, I have over 20 years experience in working with college students, helping them through many of the most difficult emotional barriers and roadblocks that we face. I love working with college students! A lot of the work that I do with people centers around trauma that they have experienced. As someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of trauma suffered by churches and religious people and systems, I have great empathy and understanding for people dealing with trauma. Here's some of how I approach the work I do with people: I’ll get to know you through asking questions. No one story can encapsulate all of who you are, so I’ll listen and show curiosity about you and your life. I will speak hope to you. I believe that hope is essential to keep moving forward as a human being. I also understand how hard it can be to hold onto. We’ll look for repeated themes, ideas, and connections in your stories so that we can find the problem(s) and discover the tactics and strategies that the problems are using to stay in power. We will work to separate you from the problem(s). I honestly believe that you are not the problem but that whatever problem you are struggling with (anxiety, depression, anger) is the problem. We will discover who you aspire to be and develop tools and strategies that can help you to live for longer stretches of time as the best version of yourself. We’ll work to develop tools that you can utilize in between our sessions, and truths for you to hold on to, so that you can have more hope. I’ll help you learn to pay attention to the ways that your body is trying to communicate to you. I find that the people who make the most progress usually do some reflection between sessions.

I am a lover of liminal spaces. To me, the liminal, the “in-between”, is a space of great possibility. It lies at the edge of certainty and uncertainty. It beckons us to drop what we think we know and be with what is actually present. My identities and life experiences give me a sense of being “in-between.” I’m a gender fluid, Puerto Rican person who grew up in the diaspora. I grew up in a military family and spent my childhood moving from place to place. As an adult, I continued to move, spending years living and working in the Pacific Islands and Latin America. I explore liminal spaces in my exploration of fiber art, as well as in my music. I love to create new combinations of seemingly opposing elements, whether that is an innovative way of weaving or creating a folksy version of a salsa song. As a therapist, my “in-between” experiences reinforce my belief that when we can stay present in the place of flux, of uncertainty, then change and transformation is possible. I have spent over 8 years providing somatic, present-moment focused, and intuitive psychotherapy to survivors of sexual violence, sexual abuse and individuals experiencing grief. I combine extensive training in Gestalt therapy, Internal Family Systems, psychedelic-assisted therapy and mindfulness-based interventions to aid clients in creating lives they love. My activism and commitment to social justice come to bear in years of experience in community mental health. I believe that personal healing is bound in collective healing, that we are all threads in the larger tapestry of life. Through my practice, I aim to empower individuals to invest in their wholeness, health, and joy, recognizing that we are all the medicine we need.

You are dealing with the impact of your past experiences, all while trying to keep it together and manage the stress of daily life. Although you want to heal so badly, you feel like you can never quite find a therapist that you can show your true, authentic self to. You may be dealing with anxious and depressed thoughts, relationship issues, traumatic memories resurfacing, or feelings of anger and resentment. You need a space where you can connect the puzzle pieces and find deep and meaningful compassion for yourself. My work is attachment-based, trauma informed, and relational in nature. This means that we won't just look at the symptoms you are experiencing, but also the world around you and how you have learned to survive in it. I will be there to guide you and help bring awareness to the patterns and ways of being that have helped you through these difficulties. If you have resonated with what you have read thus far, I welcome you to reach out! I offer afternoon and evening availability for adults and adolescents to best accommodate busy schedules.
