I like to think of therapy as a journey of inner exploration and I am along as a guide. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is a combination of intellectual understanding and emotional experience. In that regard, it feels like your feelings are our road signs that we are in the right track to self-growth. I try to not have a specific agenda going into sessions, but rather to go where it is you feel like you need to go at that time. I believe that it is my role to create a safe space for you to express and explore whatever it is that is inside you. Compassion is key, and cultivating self-compassion is one of the most important elements of therapy. I look forward to helping you explore and become more self-aware and self-compassionate!

The name 'Winding Path' is a classic metaphor for life - the way in which one's life goes is often not linear or predictable. Often, people find themselves on a path that they both did not see coming nor are sure of where it will lead. This is what brings many people to therapy. I specifically gear my practice to help those with stress, trauma, family conflict, and symptoms that arise with indecision. The ethos of my practice is that I will meet clients where they are and walk with them on their own winding path, while using the therapeutic tools garnered from years of training to aim toward lessening their unease and increasing their clarity.

I specialize in supporting college students who are navigating the many transitions that come with this stage of life. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by academic pressure, questioning your direction, adjusting to new environments, or trying to balance relationships, you don’t have to figure it out alone. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I aim to create a space where you can speak openly without feeling judged or misunderstood. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on in your life, build tools to manage stress and emotions, and help you move toward the version of yourself and your life that feels most authentic and meaningful. I’m especially passionate about working with college students because I remember how complex and overwhelming that time can be. My goal is to be the kind of therapist I wish I had when I was in college; someone who truly listens, understands the challenges of transitional life experiences, and offers steady support while you figure things out at your own pace. Hello, I'm a mental health counselor licensed in the state of NY. I have worked in community mental health since 2015 in both clinic and primary care medical settings. My clients have presented a wide range of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, substance abuse, capitalism, fascism, and adjustment to life after incarceration. Regardless of what issues bring you to therapy, I work from the assumption that YOU are not the problem. Rather, the situation is the problem, and we work together to transform it. This process often involves shifting your view, giving yourself grace, and deepening compassion for yourself. Before graduate school, I was a community organizer and activist addressing issues of social, ecological, and economic concern; my undergraduate degrees are in Community Health and Peace and Justice Studies. I often use a systems perspective to address problems, and I have experience working with trauma related to systemic harm and oppression. I strive to be supportive and curious in my role as a counselor. Working in this field means that I learn (and unlearn) every day. I am honored to walk alongside the people who invite me into their lives, and I do my best to offer honesty and compassion in a safe and respectful way. I value broad access to psychotherapy and gladly offer a sliding fee scale.

I work at Hudson Valley Family Therapy, a private practice. Virtual only! It is important that I make a positive imprint on your life and leave you with the feelings of comfort and safety confiding in me. I will provide a safe and open environment so you can explore your feelings and experiences without judgment. Every individual has their own past and present experiences that shape what our lives are today. Not one single individual’s experiences are ever the same as another. Those experiences should not have a hold over you or your life, and together we will find ways to help make it easier one day at a time. I can provide excellent listening skills, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard for all clients. Together we will explore ways to achieve your best personal health, emotional wellness, and create goals to improve your everyday life. I strive to provide you with the necessary tools and skills you can take with you outside of our sessions.

Psychotherapy is a profoundly personal and individualized process. It can foster a deeper understanding of self and others, promote healing and resilience, increase coping skills, change behaviors, instill hope, create meaning, and help individuals live their lives in more emotionally honest, authentic, and relationally connected ways. At the heart of the therapeutic process is a collaborative working relationship between therapist and client, and the best outcomes are achieved when there is a feeling of connection and understanding between the two. Continually attending to the fit between therapist and client is important in establishing a relationship that has the strength and ability to explore difficult experiences and the impact of those experiences on clients’ lives. Dr. Kapadia approaches the work with both curiosity and compassion, tailoring the treatment to the individual and using an integrative approach to meet each person’s needs. She draws from a variety of therapeutic orientations, including interpersonal, psychodynamic, family systems, and affect regulation models (cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies).

I’m not a “nod quietly and ask how that makes you feel” kind of therapist. I’m here to be present, ask meaningful questions, and help you sort through what’s keeping you stuck. My clients describe me as warm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. My goal is to make therapy a place where you feel safe showing up exactly as you are, messiness and all.

I am all too familiar with how so many struggles boil down to the same deep needs: to be seen, supported, understood, or safe. I help people reclaim their energy from the runaway train of their thoughts and the demands of those they care about so they can live with more focus, calm, and control. That means learning to let go of "doing it right" in favor of doing what actually works for you. By separating your sense of worth from how much you give to others, you end your people-pleasing behaviors and work on setting healthy boundaries that protect your energy without the crushing weight of guilt that usually follows. I believe there’s no one right path or set agenda we’re supposed to follow. Sometimes, the best steps we take are the ones that don’t make sense to anyone else, but that feel undeniably true to us. That’s what I help my clients find: a way forward that’s grounded, self-directed, and shaped by who they are, not who they were told to be.

Rina is a relational and insight-oriented therapist who works with thoughtful adults seeking greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and meaningful personal growth. Based in private practice, she offers therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, identity shifts, life transitions, and recurring relationship patterns. Rina welcomes clients who may appear steady outwardly yet feel unsettled beneath the surface and are ready to approach therapy with curiosity, honesty, and depth. Her work is grounded in the belief that lasting change develops through reflection, self-awareness, and a consistent therapeutic relationship. Rina provides a calm, respectful space where emotional and embodied experience can be explored with care. Sessions are paced intentionally, allowing insight to deepen over time rather than rushing toward quick solutions. She works particularly well with introspective adults who want to move beyond analysis alone and cultivate a deeper sense of inner steadiness and self-trust.

In the role of therapist, my initial priority is creating the safety and familiarity that is crucial to do real work together. I look at the therapeutic process as an opportunity to work with the person coming to me in need of support, and tackle their issues as a team. I bring a nonjudgmental, open-minded approach to my clients and emphasize the importance of clients feeling secure enough to say anything they need to in the space we curate together. My approach has an emphasis on self-compassion and becoming in tune with your emotions and body. In today’s world, it is easier than ever to become disconnected from your body and feelings. My hope is that we can work together to reintegrate your inner wisdom to your conscious level of awareness.

Are you a college or graduate student who feels like you’re constantly trying to keep up? Maybe you’re overwhelmed by school, work, relationships, and everything else you’re expected to figure out. Even when you’re doing well, you still feel like you’re not doing enough. You may be dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, low self-esteem, or the pressure to have your future figured out. I specialize in working with college students, graduate students, and young adults navigating these challenges. I understand that being a student isn’t just about academics. You’re also figuring out who you are, what you want, how to manage relationships, and how to build a life that feels meaningful all while dealing with the pressure to succeed. My goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed and more confident in your ability to handle whatever comes next. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck and develop practical skills to manage anxiety, cope with stress, and improve self-confidence. We’ll use evidence-based approaches including CBT and DBT, while tailoring therapy to your individual needs and goals. I take a warm, collaborative approach to therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start, and you don’t have to wait until things feel “bad enough” to reach out. Whether you’re struggling to keep up with school, feeling burned out, questioning yourself, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a space to slow down, understand what’s happening, and figure out what you want your next chapter to look like. If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment while also giving you practical tools you can actually use, I’d love to connect. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.

My core values are faith, family, social and economic justice. My worldview is quite simple. You see, I believe that everyone has a right to be in a good place mentally physically and spiritually. I find that I have evolved into a change agent - which is a natural profession for a social worker. The same steps that I have taken to secure my life, mentally physically and emotionally, are the very same steps I am willing to assist my patients/clients in taking. My specialties lie in my abilities to move a person or a family from a place of dysfunction to functionality. I strive to improve the quality of life those whom I counsel. My theoretical framework a solution focused, interwoven with resiliency theory, using a strength-based approach. I am just a chat away if you need me – 'how may I help you?"
