Hi there! My practice is inclusive and welcoming to all. Helping Millennials and Asian-Americans through talk therapy or EMDR, I get people unstuck. Through a trauma-informed lens, I support adults who struggle with anxiety, loss, life transitions, and trauma. I equip clients with proven techniques, such as tapping into strengths, using mindfulness within daily activities, highlighting available choices, and transforming unwanted thoughts in a structured format. I also help enhance dimensions of your overall wellness. In all, clients gain a healthier connection to their feelings and actions. I specialize in helping motivated individuals get back a better version of themselves. I share effective tools based on your needs and abilities and empower you to regain control of your life. For trauma work, I integrate light somatic exercises with EMDR. My clients move at their pace, while I serve as your guide during the transformation process. My priorities are simple- listen first and help second. I show up as authentic, attentive, and committed within a nurturing therapeutic space. I also weave in humor and lightness when appropriate. I welcome the opportunity to learn about you and help improve your well-being. If you're not satisfied with the intake session, there will be no charge.

Welcome. I am Dr. Christiane Speed. I am a licensed psychologist in CA and NC. I have been practicing for over 12 years and possess extensive experience working with college and university students both in CA and NC. I enjoy helping students regain a sense of control and empowerment over their life struggles so that they can engage and enjoy life more fully and create a healthier academic and personal life balance. A major part of therapy involves helping students adapt to student life, balance school and personal life. Students come to see for help with how to communicate effectively in relationships, and to learn practical coping skills for stress and time management. We work on identifying and managing procrastination, increasing motivation and goal directed activities and setting very clear, realistic, achievable goals and having a growth mindset. Other areas of work might include managing and resolving interpersonal problems, setting healthy emotional, physical and personal boundaries, improving family, friendship and romantic relationships and overall functioning. My areas of specialty include anxiety (including generalized anxiety disorder, health anxiety, imposter syndrome, OCD, social anxiety, specific phobia), complex stress and life struggles, depression , grief and loss. I take a flexible and individualized approach to treatment and integrate effective techniques from different approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused Therapy. To gain a more holistic understanding, treatment also addresses how cultural, family, medical, physical, social, societal and spiritual factors interact with each client's unique life struggles. My main focus is getting to know each of my client's unique life experiences, difficulties and needs so that I can tailor therapy to best suit what will work best for that client. If you feel that we would be a good fit working together, please contact me to schedule an appointment. I look forward to the potential of working with you.

Welcome! As a therapist, mom, social worker, and military spouse, my work has been shaped by the unique challenges and rewards that come with being part of this complex community. I understand the intricacies of military life from a deeply personal perspective, and this experience drives my passion for supporting military members and their families. With experience working within the Department of Veterans Affairs, I’ve gained invaluable insight into the struggles many in this community face—post-traumatic stress, relationship challenges, transition issues, and navigating the mental health system. I know how these challenges can impact not only service members but their loved ones as well. Whether you’re a service member working through the emotional toll of your experiences, a spouse seeking support in navigating military life, or a family member looking for an additional outlet, I’m here to provide compassionate, tailored support. My approach is rooted in research-based techniques that are flexible, trauma-informed, and personalized to your unique needs. Therapy offers a safe place to turn when life feels overwhelming. People often come with concerns around trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or substance use. Beneath these struggles is often a desire to feel at home in their body, to quiet self-doubt, and to experience more connection. Together, we can create a path toward healing, resilience, and greater compassion- for yourself and in your relationships. I take a holistic, trauma-informed approach that draws from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, DBT, ACT, and somatic therapies. By integrating mind, body, and emotion, I help clients process painful experiences, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves in a way that supports lasting healing. My approach blends warmth, compassion, and practical strategies you can carry into everyday life. My goal is to help you reclaim the time and energy that’s been lost to hypervigilance, fear, and self-criticism, and replace it with connection, meaning, and freedom. You don’t have to stay stuck in survival mode. Reach out for a free consultation!

We live in a culture that constantly pushes us to do more, work harder, and question whether we’re ever “enough.” For many students, that pressure leads to stress, anxiety, and burnout. But thriving isn’t about pushing harder—it’s about finding balance, clarity, and a stronger sense of who you are and what you need. This work often extends into your relationships, your identity, and your sense of direction. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, explore what’s weighing on you, and develop a more grounded, sustainable way forward.

Many teens and adults struggle with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and compulsive behaviors that feel difficult to control. You may find yourself stuck in cycles of worry, overthinking, reassurance-seeking, or mental rituals, leaving you exhausted and frustrated. Anxiety or OCD may be interfering with your relationships, school, work, or ability to enjoy daily life. What you want is relief—not just from anxiety itself, but from the constant mental struggle it creates. You want to feel more confident in your ability to cope, less controlled by fear, and more present in your life. I specialize in treating anxiety and OCD using evidence-based approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I work with teens and adults at their own pace, offering semi-structured, supportive therapy focused on facing anxiety, reducing compulsions, and building confidence in coping skills. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve been struggling for a long time. You are not broken or weak—anxiety and OCD are difficult, but highly treatable. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning, support is available when you’re ready to take the next step.
