Hi! I offer personalized therapy for individuals facing anxiety, life-transitions and stress. Together we will uncover patterns that keep you stuck and develop tools to manage challenges and create meaningful change.
Life is a journey filled with transitions, some anticipated, others unexpected. At ReAlign Wellness Group, we understand that navigating these changes can be challenging. Whether you're transitioning into college, exploring aspects of your identity such as gender, race, or age, managing anxiety or depression, coping with loss, or considering or maintaining sobriety, we're here to support you. Our therapists use evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and other tools that support real progress. Most importantly, we believe that healing happens in relationship with a therapist who honors your voice, values, and lived experience. We offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you find the right therapist for your needs. Sessions are available weekdays, with daytime and limited evening availability. We provide telehealth sessions and accept several major insurance plans along with offering private pay options. If you're moving through a time of change or ready to make one, we’re here to help.
Hello! Thank you for your interest in starting therapy. I have a lot of experience supporting college and advanced degree students who are dealing with anxiety, OCD, and stress. I take a CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), goals-focused approach. I am licensed in Massachusetts and New York and I can see students in either state--in fact, I work with a number of students who go to school in MA but live in NY when they are not on campus and vice versa. I'd be happy to set up a time to talk so you can ask any questions that you have to see if it would be a good fit for you.
My style is direct, interactive, supportive and compassionate. I particularly enjoy working with older adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficult and challenging transitions in their lives. I have found that some people seek counseling for short term solutions, while others are seeking a longer, deeper, transformative experience. Some goals I have helped my patients achieve include: overcoming inhibitions about relationships or career, becoming better self-advocates, managing stressful life transitions, exercising more control over choices and actions, and mourning the loss of a loved one/significant relationship. I often use CBT, DBT, and ERP to help clients maximize functioning.
Throughout my career I have successfully treated people with symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD. I enjoy the collaboration with other treating providers such as psychotherapists and primary care providers in maximizing the benefits of psychopharmacological treatment. I am committed to high standards of care following the latest clinical research. While anxiety disorders and mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder) have been the focus of my practice, do not hesitate to contact me if you feel I can help you. I have an extensive experience in multiple behavioral health settings where I treated conditions such as PTSD, ADHD, and other mental health disorders. People of all backgrounds are welcome to my practice. Tele-medicine psychopharmacology only. I do not take insurance, self-pay only.

You might be struggling to understand why you fall into the same damaging patterns in your relationships. Or why, no matter how much you want to, you just can't seem to let yourself be vulnerable with the people you love most. Or maybe you're facing questions about your path in life and trying to fit into a predetermined mold. I believe we shouldn't have to force ourselves to blend into one aspect of our identities. We deserve to embrace all parts of ourselves and create our own unique balance from our cultural, gender, emotional identities and more. Attachment theory, trauma informed interventions, and a personal and therapeutic perspective of multicultural identities are some of the things that allow me to support you in better understanding yourself and get answers to your biggest questions about you. All with the goal of feeling most aligned with who you truly are. Life today can fill our heads with so many complexities that we sometimes lack the capacity to figure all this out on our own. The therapeutic space we create can be dedicated to the personal challenges that have had to take a backseat. Those parts of you deserve the time.
Life transitions—whether starting college, adjusting to new environments, navigating relationships, transitioning to a new place—can feel exciting but also overwhelming. I am Dr. Dana Albert-Proos, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 15 years of experience supporting individuals across life stages and through meaningful transitions. I have a passion for working with students as they adjust and manage college life. Over the years, I have worked with students facing a wide range of needs, from managing academic pressure and social dynamics to coping with emotional health concerns. I also bring extensive experience supporting international students as they cope with the emotional impact of relocation and cultural adjustment. My approach is tailored to each person and emphasizes the mind–body connection. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), emotional regulation techniques, mindfulness and body-based practices, and Expressive Arts Therapy. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can reflect on your experiences, build resilience, and take meaningful steps toward growth and balance. Through a collaborative process shaped around your needs, we will work together toward your goals and support your unique journey. Whether you are ready to begin or simply curious to learn more, I warmly invite you to reach out.
I am currently accepting new clients! If you are looking for support during this time of your life, you have come to the right place. Everyone's journey is different and progress is a winding road. Working with me is a journey of reflection and skill-building. My clients are a diverse bunch of adults, who may be here to work through depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Before we begin working together, I offer a free 30-minute consultation to ensure we are the right fit for your needs and goals.

Managing OCD, anxiety, and/or depression on top of the demands of work, school, social responsibilities, family responsibilities, or even leisure time is exhausting. It takes so much time and energy to deal with anxiety and takes you away from the things you care about. You deserve to feel better and do more than just try to get through your day. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment and work collaboratively with you in an empathic manner using evidence-based treatment, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (or exposure and response prevention for OCD). Finding a therapist who fits what you are looking for can be a challenging experience. I admire your bravery in taking this first step. If you have questions about my practice, background, or approach we can set up a call to discuss if it would be a good fit.

I offer medication management and/or counseling. I work with individuals, couples, or families. I enjoy helping people navigate relationships, deal with stress or anxiety, or depression/feeling overwhelmed. I have a history in pediatrics and I'm happy to work with adolescents/young adults. For people who may need advice or insight into a situation, but do not want to commit long-term, I offer short term problem-focused visits.
I specialize in supporting folks who are navigating the impacts of complex trauma. Complex trauma can occur as a result of violence in the home, relationships, school systems, community environments, the workplace, & systemic oppression. I take an in-depth, trauma-informed psychodynamic approach to therapy that feels accessible and relational in nature. With an in-depth approach to therapy, I strive to create a safe space for clients as they process difficult emotions, identify patterns, dismantle shame blockages, and repair intrapersonal trust. My approach to therapy works well for those who are seeking a deeper exploration of themselves and the world around them. In our first session together, you can expect me to be compassionate, curious, and highly attentive as I begin to know you at a pace that feels right for you.
If you’re trying to navigate stress, identity, relationships, or just the pressure of figuring life out, you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or just unsure of what you need, we can take the time to sort through it together. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine curiosity about you. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected, and understood, so I prioritize building a relationship where you can speak openly. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and deeply committed to creating a space that is welcoming and inclusive of BIPOC clients. Your identities, experiences, and cultural context matter. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with openness, respect, and care, I’d be glad to connect.
