Therapists for college students near Cambridge, MA
For over 25 years I have worked as a social worker, life coach and therapist with children, adolescents and adults. Since I was a child I knew that I wanted to be a counselor helping others in their time of need. At some point in life's journey you may experience a time where you feel you may benefit from some extra support and guidance, let me help you on the road to hope and healing. I believe in a mutual therapeutic relationship working together as a team towards the client's goals. Starting therapy and sharing issues that have become challenging is a hard and yet courageous step in your healing process. As a therapist I am honored to be able to share in this journey and hold the emotions that come with this. I consider myself to be an eclectic therapist, taking into consideration the individuals uniqueness and needs before implementing techniques and strategies. I use an honest and direct approach in a non-judgemental and compassionate way. With the help of different modalities CBT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused and EMDR I can help you find a path toward inner peace and joy.
I enjoy working with individuals struggling with anxiety/stress, life problems/transitions, self-confidence, or relationship issues, as well as those struggling with or know someone struggling with addiction. I work collaboratively with the client to process feelings and emotions and explore new perspectives. My background is in CBT, but I tend to use a variety of techniques in treatment. I employ a strength based, client centered, perspective to help clients realize their potential and engage clients in finding the answers to reach their goals within themselves.

Hi, my name is Jonah Bayer and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. I primarily work with students on anxiety, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the music industry for two decades and also specialize in the unique challenges and pressures that can occur in creative collaborations. I give my clients a roadmap for personalized therapeutic goals, developing targeted coping skills and identifying triggers that may be unconsciously holding them back from living in a value-driven manner. " I use a blend of modalities, including DBT, EMDR and mindfulness skills in a holistic way to help work through issues that might be holding you back. My practice is unique due to my own life informed experience as a musician, journalist and psychotherapist. I truly believe that becoming less identified with unhelpful thought patterns can be truly liberating—yet it takes practice. I am passionate about helping my clients reach their goals and improve the ways they move through the world.
I am located at a group practice called Elevate Counseling Services in Easton, MA! I have a spacious holistic wellness office or I provide telehealth services (must be in MA).
There is no problem too big or too small that can’t be improved with another perspective. There is no goal that can’t be reached with hard work, support and humor. In my 10 years as a Social Worker, I have worked with my clients during difficult times, various transitions and everyday life stressors. I also have experience working with individuals and families impacted by intellectual disabilities. I love hearing stories: about your day, your family, the good, the bad and everything in between. Through hearing the patterns and outlining your goals, we pick a framework together that will help you achieve whatever you put your mind to. I use evidence based practices as a guide and together we figure out the best fit for you. We’ll start with whatever story brought you in to seek help, in as little or as much detail as you feel comfortable sharing. Then we will discuss what your goals of therapy are and what clinical tools sound like they have the best chance of getting you there. We create a vision together, draw a road map, and get to work.
I’m Alexandra Casamassima (a mouthful, I know), a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. More specifically, I help people create positive change in their lives when they are struggling. I have expertise in working with women. This includes college students or millennials going through a “quarter life crisis,” the pregnancy and postpartum period, and beyond. I support women in exploring their history and revealing patterns that may be impacting their emotions or relationships, or just help tackle a difficult season of life. I am not your typical therapist, and we will not be interpreting dreams from a couch. Therapy should not be an awkward and stale experience. Expect therapy with me to be a compassionate and safe space to process what you’re going through. However, I am not a sit and nod therapist. I will be real. I will challenge you in the areas I think we need to re-evaluate. I will use humor. I might curse here and there. While I have extensive education and training that has prepared me for this role, my experience has mostly taught me that YOU are the expert of your life. You have all the strengths, capabilities, and life experiences you need to get you where you want to go. My skills involve utilizing those strengths, giving you the tools to cope with what you’re struggling with, and elicit the change you want to see. I do not have a magic wand (otherwise my rates would be much higher), but if you put in the work during the therapy process, transformation is possible. If you’re reading this, chances are you are suffering in some way. Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety, maybe you’re overwhelmed with being a mom, or maybe you know you’re just not getting the most out of life. Please reach out if you’d like to take the first step to make positive change.

Hello! I am currently accepting new clients. Therapy is most supportive when you have a good rapport with your therapist. As a therapist, I am passionate about working with young adults, supporting individuals navigate a range of challenges, including perfectionism, anxiety, relationship/family concerns, grief, self-esteem/confidence, and general life stressors. I also have experience working with individuals who are neurodivergent.
We all go through phases in life. Some days are sunny and some others with a lot of rain and storm. Anxiety, depression, life transitions,pre-postpartum anxiety&depression, difficulty focusing, and relationship problems with loved ones and/or in a professional setting are only a few of the problems every person deals in their life at some point. Even though they are part of our nature, these symptoms could be very overwhelming. I am trained in talk therapy which focuses on resolving deeper issues, to understand one’s patterns and character, relief symptoms and improve interpersonal relationships. Hi there! My name is Emersyn (they/them). I am a white, queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent human who is committed to lifelong learning and presently engaged in their own healing. I love working with other LGBTQIA2S+ folks around identity exploration, relationships, and feelings of erasure or invalidation within the community. I also enjoy working with neurodivergent individuals to identify strengths, needs, and ways to implement accommodations. I work with adults ages 18+ and children ages 6-10. I believe that children, like adults, have rich and dynamic inner worlds, behaviors, and concerns that deserve to be held with sincerity and curiosity. Previously, I have worked with adults with serious mental illness in a group home setting, as well as children with trauma histories in a special education setting. My therapy style is collaborative, systems-focused, person-centered, and casual. I am interested to learn about the familial, societal, and historical contexts that have shaped your/your child’s life. I trust you/your child to take the lead, and I will offer guidance along the way. Past clients have appreciated my genuineness, curiosity, and receptivity to feedback. I offer virtual and in-person sessions for adults and in-person sessions only for children, including outdoor/walk-and-talk (pending weather). Please note that I will be masking for in-person sessions due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I will provide extra masks should you choose to wear one.
