I am a LICSW with over fifteen years of experience where I collaborate with clients to discover a resiliency within themselves. My most rewarding experiences have been with young adults who may be just beginning or those returning to college and managing the challenges that arise. I work with individuals who may experience a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, adjusting to life transitions and those impacted by trauma and systems of oppression. I bring warmth, compassion and sometimes humor to our conversations and enjoy working with individuals who are interested in understanding more about themselves and how they move through the world.

I love working with students as they navigate the sometimes rough waters of schooling and early adulthood. I hope our work together can be a steadying and calming force in the midst of those previously turbulent seas. Please reach out to me for a free 15-30 min phone call to see if we are a good fit!

Managing OCD, anxiety, and/or depression on top of the demands of work, school, social responsibilities, family responsibilities, or even leisure time is exhausting. It takes so much time and energy to deal with anxiety and takes you away from the things you care about. You deserve to feel better and do more than just try to get through your day. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment and work collaboratively with you in an empathic manner using evidence-based treatment, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (or exposure and response prevention for OCD). Finding a therapist who fits what you are looking for can be a challenging experience. I admire your bravery in taking this first step. If you have questions about my practice, background, or approach we can set up a call to discuss if it would be a good fit.

I graduated with a Masters of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health at Vanderbilt University. As an NP, I have experience working at a major academic center working with patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Or maybe you’re struggling with your relationships with others or your relationship with yourself? You are not alone and things can get better. I will provide a supportive, nonjudgemental and caring space that will encourage self-awareness, resiliency building, and vulnerability while we work together to take on each challenge. I am a strengths-based, client centered therapist who works with numerous therapy modalities in order to find the best fit for you. I take a collaborative approach to therapy because it is important that you have a voice.
** Telehealth and In-Person appointments.** We all long for our experiences, feelings, and needs to be seen, recognized, and honored. I bring to our work deep respect for your concerns and suffering. I place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work together which I approach with curiosity and empathy. I am most interested in what your unique experience is, and I aim to listen deeply on our road toward understanding. A safe-enough space will help us to transform your patterns of experience that interfere with your ability to be compassionate with yourself, to build meaningful relationships, and to work and play creatively, in other words, to live a fulfilling life. I am humbled by the complexity of human existence and feel honored to work with individuals from different racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual and gender identities, as well as spiritual and religious affiliations. In addition to my private practice, I am an Instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School (part-time) and supervise psychology interns and psychiatrist fellows. I served as the co-chair of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology Graduate Student Committee helping young clinicians explore and develop their professional identities.
I work primarily with those suffering from chronic illness. Difficult to treat medical conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, Lupus, etc. are often poorly understood, and it can be very difficult for patients to find the help and support they need. I teach my clients tools for coping with and managing every day life with these conditions, in addition to mind body medicine practices to help alleviate symptoms and to decrease stress. I have recently started offering Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy as a way to cope with life stressors or trauma.

My practice has always been focused on serving the BGLTQ+ Community, especially trans & gender diverse people, and polyamorous people. I tend to see a lot of geeky and neurodivergent people. My work as a therapist is informed by early training in both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders and depression, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My approach draws from the applications of mindfulness and self-compassion in psychotherapy, as well as feminist approaches such as Relational-Cultural therapy. Ultimately, I believe it is the relationship that heals, as well as learning to be a kind friend to oneself. I believe that good mental health means knowing you have choices and making them consciously (not which choices you make). (Please note if contacting me: it will save time if you include your insurance company and whether HMO or PPO.)
Welcome, and thanks for looking! I'm excited to begin your counseling journey with you. My role as your therapist will be to not only help you feel safe and supported, but also gently challenge you when appropriate. I am especially eager to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationship troubles, body image, LGBTQ+ related themes, and difficulties related to life transitions. My primary approach to counseling is very relational. I believe that trusting your therapist is the pinnacle of what makes therapy work. One of the best parts of my job is hearing someone say "I couldn't wait to talk to you about this!" I want our work to feel collaborative and tailored to your individual needs as much as possible. Seeking therapy can be very intimidating, and you're taking a brave step by being here. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable, validated, and supported as possible when we work together. I'm looking forward to connecting!
I'm fluent in Mandarin and English, I have worked with many international students who struggle with cultural adjustment, immigration status, interpersonal relationship and other challenges in college life. I was an international student and I knew how challenging it could be to study abroad. I would like to be a good listener and care for students' mental health. In terms of my approaches, I help students use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to view their life in a more comprehensive way by analyzing their automatic thoughts. I also guide them to be aware of body sensation and be able to calm through mindfulness practice (a technique from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).
Psychotherapy offers more than just healing -- it can help us discover new & forgotten strengths, fortify our relationships with ourselves & others, and build satisfying lives. I believe that a trusting and collaborative relationship is at the root of all meaningful work. To that end, I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental and safe space in therapy that facilitates effective partnership between us. We will work together to help you find emotional relief, access your authentic self, cultivate meaningful & healthy relationships and to be an effective advocate for yourself. I have worked with teenagers, adults and families, helping them overcome depression, anxiety & relational conflict, process grief & loss, manage trauma sequelae, grapple with issues of gender & sexuality, deal with challenges related to acculturation as well as life transitions. I offer support and understanding to people from all cultural backgrounds. My clinical approach is eclectic and rooted in several therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, trauma-informed, DBT and IFS. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and so, together we will find the techniques most suitable for you. To accommodate busy schedules, I offer weekend times. I also offer services in Hindi.
I specialize in working with anxiety disorders, self-esteem, and personality disorders; I also have the unique niche of working researchers/academics as well as those who have lived abroad. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a researcher at Harvard Medical School, University of Pennsylvania, and as a Fulbright scholar in Budapest, Hungary, studying psychotherapeutic interventions for anxiety disorders and personality disorders. My work has resulted in 20+ publications in research journals and popular science magazines. Having lived in Europe for several years, I deeply understand bi-cultural and cross-cultural challenges. My background as an academic researcher also has shaped my approach, allowing me to connect with and support clients from diverse backgrounds in a meaningful way! I offer a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel truly heard and understood. Whether you're seeking clarity on what drives you, or navigating the everyday challenges that life brings, my goal is to support you in a way that feels safe and validating. Life can be tough, and our minds often create barriers that make it hard to move forward. Through therapy, my aim is to help you work through the complexities of being human - helping you better understand yourself and find ways to cope with the unique challenges of living in today’s world.
