You probably have a sense of what you need to move forward, and I consider that sense sacred. Once we have built a foundation together, we can use a variety of approaches to help achieve your goals. My specialty areas are: post-traumatic stress coping with life changes depression anxiety grief & loss the helper community (police, fire, dispatch, medical, clergy) I am experienced in many of the most reliable, evidence-based treatments (including EMDR, CBT, and Mindfulness) so that you can have the best service available, find relief, and make positive change. I am a board certified psychiatrist and provide combined psychotherapy and medication treatment. My patients are typically looking for therapy to address concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. They are also often looking for support with evidence-based medication treatment. I listen carefully to understand the difficulties that bring someone to treatment and to understand their goals. I am collaborative in my approach. I approach psychotherapy from a psychodynamic perspective, where the goal is to increase understanding and insight into thoughts, feelings, and behavior. When we can understand ourselves better, we can then change patterns that may be getting in our way. This type of therapy can often lead to lasting change. Please note that because my practice is telehealth only, I do not prescribe controlled substances (for example, stimulants for ADHD or medications such as Xanax or Ativan for anxiety).
Ombu Counseling specializes in helping those facing new challenges in life, those in the process of negotiating their place in an adoptive environment, and those seeking to assert themselves in relationships, groups and/or families in which conflicting values, beliefs and expectations prevail. Major life transitions are challenging, especially when they provoke questions about one’s identity, culture, core-values and sense of belonging. Trying to figure this out can result in feelings of confusion and emotional exhaustion. Counseling offers a process for reflecting on such questions and space for containing the emotions they produce.

Hello! My name is Morgan, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Since starting my career in 2015, I have worked in community-based mental health, private practice, schools and hospitals. Since 2021, I have primarily worked in tele-health, so I am well versed in making virtual sessions as comfortable and productive as possible. Before becoming a therapist, I played college volleyball. When I think of the most difficult times in my life, transitioning from high school to college is near the top. Trying to juggle living on my own (being homesick), college classes and a full-time volleyball schedule was no joke. I struggled with Depression and I wish I would have had someone to talk to, someone to help me adjust to this crazy time in my life. I want to be that person for others just like me. I’ve worked with children and adults dealing with life-changing situations, such as Depression, Anxiety, and ADHD. However, I believe that therapy is for everyone, so even if you don’t feel you are dealing with severe issues, I also assist clients with stress, self-esteem issues, coping with general life changes, relationship issues, family conflicts, anger management, communication issues and coaching.

Hello :) Going to college is such an exciting time in your life. It also can be overwhelming navigating all the new experiences. If you are looking for someone who can help you find a successful transition to your new world, I can help. I have worked in the field of social work for over 36 years and helped many people find their way in the world. When meeting new people from so many different backgrounds and even parts of the world can be fun and maybe a little terrifying at times. I can be a safe place to sort through your thoughts and feelings and make decisions that are right for you. Asking for help is really a strength, not a weakness as I think some people believe. I hope to meet you soon. Emily
In the treatment of eating disorders and eating related concerns, Dr. Duffy works from an integrative approach and often uses methods from cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and interpersonal theories. She sees eating disorders as a multidimensional disorder and thus strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach. This means that individuals with eating disorders most often have psychological, medical, and nutritional causes and consequences of their disorder and require treatment in each area for a full recovery. With written permission from the client, she works with local dietitians and physicians to provide collaborative care. In addition to work around eating disorders and eating-related concerns, therapy will also address related issues such as anxiety, depression, and family concerns.
Life can be difficult. Counseling shouldn't be. When you’re struggling to cope with the challenges in your life, starting therapy is a courageous step toward change. In a complex world, we believe in straightforward, compassionate support. There are no bad parts of you. When you’re struggling to understand some challenging aspect of your life, it’s easy to say, “that’s just who I am” and label this part as unfixable or “bad”. Therapy is about creating a relationship with all the parts of you. We help you understand the connection between the actions you take, and the way you feel in a process that allows you to live in harmony with your whole self. You don’t have to accept your past – just love the person who survived it.
