At Soul Sprout Mindful Care, we are dedicated to helping you and your family achieve Mental Health. We believe that Mental Health is just as important as physical health, and we treat it as such. We are committed to providing therapeutic services including individual outpatient therapy, family outpatient therapy, and couples outpatient therapy. A therapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan, with interventions tailored specifically to your needs. We believe that you should be heard, and we take supporting you very seriously. In the African American community, we are haunted by intergenerational trauma that shapes how we view and operate within the world. By increasing the frequency with which people of color pursue therapy, we work to break the cycle of trauma and aid you in beginning a new family tradition of mental health. We are honored to work to be a part of this change! Our number one priority is the health and safety of our clients. We're working to provide telehealth services via zoom during this COVID crisis.

I've had the privilege to work as the Clinical Director at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center and as the Executive Director at Hope Harbor Wellness and West Georgia Wellness Center. I'm a person in long-term recovery from addiction, and I’m especially passionate about supporting others in healing from substance use and trauma.
Hello and welcome I am glad you are here. I am happy you are taking a moment to take care of you and find the right counselor/therapist for your needs. What I want you to know is you are not alone. Most of us struggle and find life stressful and overwhelming at times. I want you to know I understand, and I hear you. I am a therapist who takes time to listen to my clients and support them on their life's journey wherever that may lead. I use evidence-based practices and I am a certified hypnotherapist. I have specialized training working with individuals, couples, families, and veterans. I work with clients struggling with various issues such as Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, Bipolar and PTSD/Trauma. If you are looking for counseling, I encourage you to reach out to discuss how I can help and support you. I am here to listen to your story, validate your feelings, and give you tools to cope. College is supposed to be “the best years of your life,” right? So why does it sometimes feel like you’re stressed, overwhelmed, questioning everything, and running on caffeine and vibes? I work with college students and young adults who are trying to hold it all together — classes, relationships, family expectations, future plans — while quietly wondering, “Why does this feel so hard?” Anxiety, mood swings, burnout, breakups, identity questions, substance use, grief, big transitions… it’s a lot. And most people try to power through it way longer than they need to. You don’t have to have some perfectly organized explanation for why you’re struggling. If you’re overwhelmed, stuck, unmotivated, or just not feeling like yourself lately, that’s enough. You don’t need a five-point plan before reaching out. Therapy with me is grounded, supportive, and real. We’ll talk like actual humans. We’ll slow things down. We’ll figure out what’s going on underneath the stress without judgment or pressure to “fix” everything overnight. We move at your pace and focus on what feels most important to you. My goal is to help you feel more comfortable in your own head and body — so you can make decisions with clarity instead of panic, respond instead of react, and maybe even sleep a little better. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through this chapter. Support counts.
I have maintained an independent private practice since 1992. I am confident that you will find my "keep it simple" and goal directed approach fitting to your needs. You will know by the end of our first visit if we "connected". Establishing rapport is instrumental in moving forward and achieving your goals. In addition to providing outpatient counseling to young adults and adults I provide substance abuse and anger management assessments.
You feel as though you're supposed to have it all together. You're not wanting to let others down. You just can't seem to get ahead or handle it all. Struggling with worrying, emotion regulation, planning, organizing, or balancing multiple items? Aspire Counseling and Wellness can help you prioritize and get organized so you can enjoy more of the college life you dreamed of for so long. Call us today to see how we can work together and get you on a path towards success!
“I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.” - Clive Staples Lewis Beginning the process of therapy can be intimidating, overwhelming, and scary. I completely understand and have been where you are. Sitting in silence only prolongs the inevitable. Trying to resolve the problem with the help of a friend or loved one eases the burden temporarily but you may not get to the core. Working with a trusted therapist, you begin to understand your deeper thought processes, the ineffective loops you’re likely stuck in, and the fear-based thoughts holding you back. I help people struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational conflicts. I begin where you stand now. I move slowly, gently, and respectfully towards the goals we create together. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma, and Systemic Family Therapy. Some of my past experiences include working with individuals and couples in several private practice locations over the years, an inpatient drug/alcohol addiction treatment center, and at a U.S. Air Force base helping military members and their families. I also worked as a mental health counselor in a close-security prison for 3 ½ years helping male inmates struggling with mental health issues. A few fun facts about me: I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and have lived in multiple countries and states. I've been married to my beautiful bride for over 20 years and we are empty nesters (if you don't count our 4 pets)!
Sexuality is a fraught topic and no one should have to navigate it alone. I’m Amanda Auchenpaugh, LCSW, and I’m here to support you on your journey to sexual self-actualization. Clients come to me with a variety of concerns: sexual desire, identity questions, sexual shame, body image concerns, religious deconstruction, navigating new types of relationships like queer, kinky, or non-monogamous ones, or they simply want a space to explore sexuality in a way they never have before. None of us gets to adulthood without some struggle with sexuality, and by seeking support we can start breaking down the stigma and shame associated with sex in order to lead more pleasurable lives! Our relationship to pleasure is often at the root of our struggles, and it is my mission to increase collective access to pleasure in all areas of our lives. When working with me, you will always get my authentic self in our sessions, which is warm, encouraging, and sometimes a bit sassy (always with consent to let Sassy Therapist Amanda show up in the room). We’ll laugh, cry, strategize, learn, explore, question, and most importantly harness our curiosity and imagination. Because I use a feminist approach to therapy, I work hard to examine and dismantle the power dynamics that exist in the therapy space, meaning we’ll work towards showing up as equals as much as we can. I work to root my practice (and my life) in anti-oppressive frameworks, moving towards liberation for all genders, races, body types, abilities, nationalities, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and relationship/family structures. My work is holistic and systemic, which means that we tend to all the parts of you and how they affect one another, plus the ways all the micro, mezzo, and macro systems in your life impact you. I use a variety of approaches to help you improve your relationship with your body and better tune in to the information and gifts it has for you. As for me personally, I am a white cisgender woman in my 30s. I am part of the queer, non-monogamous, and kink communities, and have personal experiences with religious trauma, body shame, disordered eating, ADHD, divorce, and parenting. My hobbies include dance, birding, hosting parties, baking, audiobooks (mostly sapphic romance novels), visual arts, gardening, and travel. My friends would describe me as energetic, kind, creative, and fiercely (sometimes aggressively) empowering. I’ve lived in the Athens area since 2009 and currently live with my partner, daughter, and my two cats. I offer individual and relational (couples or more-than-two relationships) therapy, dance therapy, educational classes, workshops, case consultation, and host a monthly edu-tainment event called One Night Stand. In addition to my clinical work, I’m available to speak for your class, organization, or event about an array of sexuality-related topics. Basically I’m a total sexuality nerd who jumps at the chance to share what I’m passionate about! For more information about any of these services, feel free to contact me so we can determine what service(s) would be the best fit for you and/or your organization. While I am not in-network with any insurance, upon request I am happy to provide clients documentation to submit to their insurance for potential reimbursement. Because accessibility is important to me, I have a limited number of sliding scale offerings for therapy clients who do not have the means to pay the full rate for services. I see clients in-person at our office near downtown Athens or via Telehealth.
As a counselor my goal is to help people find inner peace, fulfillment, and purpose in their lives. I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College (2017), and my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University (2019). I welcome individuals or couples of any gender, race, ethnicity, religion, background, and sexual orientation. I am also comfortable integrating your religious beliefs into your therapeutic process, if you desire.

Sara Pelaez is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professional practicing in Georgia, Illinois, and Florida. She works with individuals and couples with a focus on students. Many of her clients have found great success in their personal and college lives, but struggle to feel connected in their relationships or at peace in their daily lives. Sara is particularly sensitive to clients facing present-past trauma, moments of transition, relationship or emotional issues when the delicate balance can seem to tremble, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can emerge. Sara’s approach is rooted in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Emotional Focus Therapy. These are evidence-based approaches that focus on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected so that they can begin to make a targeted change. It is a bottom-up/top-down approach that provides a 360 view of the client's inner world. She works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change. Sara is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress: her style is interactive, non-judgmental, and positions clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go. A trauma-informed therapist, Sara is sensitive to the influence of past experiences on present challenges and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and compassion. Sara’s first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. As a seasoned telehealth provider, she offers the convenience of remote sessions to help make therapy a core component of your self-care calendar.
