My mission is to foster healing, growth, and a strong sense of self in each of my clients. I am dedicated to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to thrive. My therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic. I pull techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help build coping strategies and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance mindfulness and emotion regulation. And, as a former Registered Behavior Technician, I use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach behavior modification strategies. I am a music lover, avid reader, and proud member of the Atlanta Jewish community. I am a “lifelong” camper, attending overnight summer camp as both a camper and staff member for over ten years. Before pursuing my Masters in Social Work at UGA, I worked as a fourth grade teaching assistant and a behavioral therapist for children with severe autism.

I believe that healing begins the moment you feel heard and understood. However, we live in a world where finding someone who can actively listen and attend to our true emotions and thoughts non-judgmentally is hard to come by. I use my authenticity, empathy, and sense of humor in therapy to provide a safe space where you can get to the root of the challenges you may be experiencing. However, I also believe it’s important to provide you with coping skills to equip you in becoming more independent in managing strong emotions on your own. I have training in trauma focused therapies such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Attachment, Regulation, Competency (ARC), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) quite often to assist in identifying negative beliefs about yourself and the world that are driving the symptoms and behaviors that might bring you to therapy. One of my favorite parts of therapy is when I can assist someone in developing self-compassion and uncovering their inner strengths and potential. I also utilize creative interventions when appropriate through art, sand tray, and music. I have experience in a variety of settings such as employee assistance programs working with clients of all ages and high school-based counseling. I work under the clinical direction of Meg McLeroy, LMFT and the supervision of Laura Knox Furfari, LMFT. I encourage you to contact me with any questions, and I look forward to connecting with you.

I think it can be normal to find therapy awkward, uncomfortable, or anxiety provoking, especially at first, and so it is really important to me to help create a space that can be tailored to support you as much as possible. I collaborate with you to uncover what you value, the person you would like to move towards being, and together we create a path that helps you move in the direction you would like to go. I use an integrative, client-led and trauma-informed approach that blends complementary therapeutic modalities to hold space for both your mind and body in sessions. The heart of which is a desire to understand you, to invite in curiosity, and to help support you in embodying your potential. Empathy and compassion play a big role in this as well as a little laughter. I will also lean into activation, discomfort, and challenging you at times. This is done with the explicit understanding this is your place to let me know when it is too much, when it is a “no”, or when I’ve mis-attuned. I use a feedback-informed approach to learn how to better support you. Feel free to visit my website to learn more about my specialties and the therapeutic approaches I use. I'm happy to answer any questions. I look forward to connecting!

Our counseling practice sees life's challenges as opportunities to understand ourselves more fully. Our therapeutic process is collaborative; we will honor your journey with non-judgment, confidentiality, and respect. You have likely found yourself in search of a therapist because something in your life is asking to be explored and shifted. You may be searching for a way to handle life stressors with more mastery, heal from past wounds, create stronger and more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others, or for help dealing with difficult life changes. Sometimes we need some support navigating the rough waters of life. When we are "in the thick of it" we must learn that we are not broken, and therapy is not about "fixing", but rather about developing self-awareness, inner kindness, and more emotional and behavioral options for responding to life's ups and downs. Painful emotions like depression, anxiety, and shame can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and hopeless. Therapy can help guide you in releasing your pain and so that you can start living with more peace and ease.

I support undergraduate and graduate students who feel stuck and are looking to build a life that feels more meaningful, intentional, and authentic. The college years are full of immense pressure and profound changes, and it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed by it all. Many of the students I work with are trying to navigate anxiety, depression, men’s issues, or ADHD in a high-stakes academic environment. Others are dealing with existential distress - asking big questions about their major, their future, and who they are - or trying to manage the massive life transition of living away from home. Sometimes, the coping mechanisms that got you through high school, including maladaptive ones like avoidance or substance use, just aren't as helpful anymore. My approach to therapy is relational and humanistic. While I use evidence-based techniques, I believe the relationship we build is the most important part of the work. I look beyond clinical labels to understand your unique experience. Think of me as a partner on your journey rather than an observer analyzing you from afar. If you’re feeling weighed down, it’s okay if you don't know exactly what to say. You don’t need a perfectly clear story to start therapy. Reach out to see if we’d work well together. If we aren't the right match, I will gladly help connect you with someone else.

It takes courage and self-compassion to embrace vulnerability. As a therapist working with children, adolescents, and young adults, I strive to create a haven of unconditional positive regard that welcomes and values the whole person. My therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered and attachment-based theories. I emphasize authentic, caring, empathetic, supportive, and collaborative connections. If you're navigating complex and challenging thoughts, feelings, or life experiences, I invite you to continue your journey of exploration and self-discovery with me. Together, we can explore and adjust pathways to develop safe and secure connections with yourself and others. I believe that healing, growth, and change are possible for everyone, both from within ourselves and through experiencing a genuine sense of belonging. Through connection, my hope is to invite and encourage a space for us to explore in depth the underlying challenges that may be causing current pain and stress. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Children's and Adolescent Counseling. I have five years of experience working with children and adolescents in the mental health field, working as a registered behavior technician (RBT) at an ABA clinic, a Family Case Manager at the Indianapolis Department of Child Services, and a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist in an elementary school setting. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young professionals, and adults experiencing interpersonal intricacies, life transitions, executive functioning difficulties, self-esteem and self-image issues, and multicultural identity exploration and formation. I integrate a variety of theoretical orientations in sessions depending on each person's specific needs, such as narrative therapy, internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and attachment theory. I work under the direct clinical supervision of Drew Phillips, LMFT, and the clinical direction of Meg McLeroy, LMFT.

It can be one of the most difficult steps to make that first phone call for therapy. Typically, we are making that call when life feels the most stressful or when we are feeling at our most vulnerable. I strive to support the courage, strength, and determination involved in seeking support. Described by clients as caring, supportive, and warm, I believe each person possesses innate skills and strengths that can be utilized within therapy. I value strengths-based, person-in-environment, cognitive-behavioral, and motivational therapeutic approaches to support each individual’s intrinsic worth and value. I love working with adults, couples, and families to explore difficulties in coping emotionally, breaking the cycle of addiction or substance use, balancing life stressors, establishing self-esteem, setting healthy boundaries, and maintaining healthy relationships. I strive to help you find your voice, offer new coping skills, and explore presenting concerns within a non-judgmental and warm environment. Think we might be a good fit? Contact me today for a free consultation to learn more about how we can work together.

Hi there! I am a licensed psychologist in Midtown Atlanta. I enjoy helping with anxiety concerns, men's issues/masculinity, relationship and social concerns, and depression, as well as a number of other concerns. I also have extensive experience working with undergraduate and graduate college students. I integrate different approaches, but work mainly using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and relational/interpersonal techniques. Additionally, I specialize in mindfulness-based and self-compassion approaches and the use of mindfulness meditation. My aim in therapy is to create a space of warmth, openness, and support so that we can lean into the difficult areas of your life, work to understand the ways you could grow, and begin to address them. I work actively to help my clients open up to their thoughts and emotions while also helping identify changes they can make to live life more effectively. I am patient, relatable, and flexible in my work, and you'll find that I am a humorous and light-hearted person, too. I also aim to be direct and authentic, giving helpful feedback when appropriate. Check out my website to get a better sense for my practice and the way I work with folks!
