It takes courage and self-compassion to embrace vulnerability. As a therapist working with children, adolescents, and young adults, I strive to create a haven of unconditional positive regard that welcomes and values the whole person. My therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered and attachment-based theories. I emphasize authentic, caring, empathetic, supportive, and collaborative connections. If you're navigating complex and challenging thoughts, feelings, or life experiences, I invite you to continue your journey of exploration and self-discovery with me. Together, we can explore and adjust pathways to develop safe and secure connections with yourself and others. I believe that healing, growth, and change are possible for everyone, both from within ourselves and through experiencing a genuine sense of belonging. Through connection, my hope is to invite and encourage a space for us to explore in depth the underlying challenges that may be causing current pain and stress. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Children's and Adolescent Counseling. I have five years of experience working with children and adolescents in the mental health field, working as a registered behavior technician (RBT) at an ABA clinic, a Family Case Manager at the Indianapolis Department of Child Services, and a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist in an elementary school setting. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young professionals, and adults experiencing interpersonal intricacies, life transitions, executive functioning difficulties, self-esteem and self-image issues, and multicultural identity exploration and formation. I integrate a variety of theoretical orientations in sessions depending on each person's specific needs, such as narrative therapy, internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and attachment theory. If you are LGBTQ+, polyamorous, kinky, or exploring your identity, it can be exhausting to live in a world that barely tolerates, much less affirms, every part of you. If you feel like you are drowning under the pressure of today’s demands, how are you supposed to find the energy to work on your goals, learn who you are, or take time to enjoy life? You may currently feel alone, unloved, or like you don’t deserve happiness. You might find yourself numb and in emotional pain, wishing people could see and understand your real self. You’re ready to get help, and you want a therapist that specializes in clients like you. I am a gay, transgender clinician dedicated to providing individual therapy to Georgia’s gender, sexuality, and relationship structure minority communities. I am passionate about my community and filling the gap in mental health care many of us experience. My services are also sex-positive, weight-inclusive, neurodiverse-friendly, and culturally-affirming. I offer both in-person and online sessions for your convenience and accessibility. Clients that work with me appreciate positive, gentle masculinity paired with the occasional dad joke. Check out my website for more information about me, or email me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.
Rebecca Meline
My mission is to foster healing, growth, and a strong sense of self in each of my clients. I am dedicated to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to thrive. My therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic. I pull techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help build coping strategies and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance mindfulness and emotion regulation. And, as a former Registered Behavior Technician, I use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach behavior modification strategies. I am a music lover, avid reader, and proud member of the Atlanta Jewish community. I am a “lifelong” camper, attending overnight summer camp as both a camper and staff member for over ten years. Before pursuing my Masters in Social Work at UGA, I worked as a fourth grade teaching assistant and a behavioral therapist for children with severe autism.

Starting therapy can be super difficult. On top of that, navigating college life can be lonely, overwhelming, and sometimes scary. My goal is to create a warm and comfortable environment for you to begin your counseling journey and for you to start working towards change, however you define that in your life.
The Unencumbered Appetite
I help folks with Eating Disorders and other people who want to find a positive and peaceful relationship with food, who are ready for an alternative to prescriptive diets and fads, and looking for a more sustainable solution to their eating woes: whether that physical symptoms, dysfunctional eating, negative body image, or food preoccupation. I use utilize the principles of Intuitive Eating and operate from a weight-neutral lens, meaning focus on behaviors and measurable health outcomes (both physical and psychological) vs. a weight-centric approach and over-reliance on BMI (a wildly inappropriate tool for individual assessment). Evidence-based nutrition counseling services from a license professional are offered via Telehealth or in person at my Decatur office, to folks living in Georgia who want a whole-person and collaborative approach to wellness.

Shane Phillips
I work with undergraduate and graduate students who are struggling with a variety of mental health, substance use, and existential problems. My patients are often looking to reduce their suffering and increase their sense of meaning and purpose in life. I especially enjoy working with people who are interested in a deeper self-understanding and working together to uncover the feelings, narratives, conflicts, and motivations that may be ruling their lives but outside of their awareness. My first priority when working with new patients is to establish trust and help create a relationship that is safe and honest. Within the context of this secure relationship, my patients are able to better understand their self-limiting or self-defeating patterns, mourn life's losses, and establish or reestablish a life that is organized around the values that matter most to them. My hope is that my patients will develop a reliable self-esteem, improve their ability to be in relationship with self and others, and live life with less reactivity and more flexibility. I received an MSW degree from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work before gaining clinical experience in diverse settings all along the addiction medicine levels of care. I opened a private practice in 2023 and currently provide services to adolescents, adults, families, and organizations.

Emily Sands Psychotherapy, LLC
I'm Emily, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Atlanta area. I view therapy as a combination of deep introspection along with more immediate, concrete change. In our work together, we will explore underlying themes, patterns, and narratives, and we will also focus on more immediate skill-building and behavioral change. I lean heavily on General Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems and other modalities to support you in deeper exploration. Whereas I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Solution-Focused Therapy to assist you in creating more concrete, immediate changes. I work best with clients who are engaged and motivated to learn about themselves; therapy should feel like a conversation. It is my ultimate belief that my clients are the experts of their own lives, and many of my clients would describe my style as down-to-earth, direct, and non-judgmental.
