In my over ten years of experience, I have worked with a myriad of conditions. The most common issues that I see are anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, women’s issues, substance abuse, stress, self-esteem, and relationship problems. I am a compassionate, non-judgemental therapist. Typically, I use a mix of cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and mindfulness based cognitive therapy techniques with clients. I believe that your brain is a muscle, and with enough work you can train your brain. Together we will explore the thoughts and behaviors that keep you feeling trapped. When you work on changing your thoughts and cognitions, your behavior can change. This in turn, can change your life. I strongly believe in continuing education and learning something new each day. Some of the specific areas that I have much expertise, education, and research in are: -Anxiety in college -Wellness and health counseling -Eating Disorders and Athletes -Stress overload in teens and young adults -Women’s Issues I love working with people who are not afraid to be challenged and those who are motivated to make a lasting change in their life. As far as age populations go, I can work with any age, but work best with those aged over 14 years old. I believe that each person has the power to have control in their life. My hope is for you to leave my office feeling inspired and empowered.

Hi! I'm Rosie (she/her). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of both Georgia and Texas. I work primarily with young adults (20s and 30s), and many of my clients are people who identify as LGBTQIA+. I have special focus in trauma processing, ADHD management, and career exploration. Throughout my social work career I have passionately advocated for racial, social and economic justice through the empowerment of individuals and groups including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, people with HIV, people experiencing homelessness, people with mental illness, people with disabilities, veterans, children and youth, and more. As a queer and neurodivergent therapist myself, I am mindful of how people’s identities factor into their experience of the world and their experience in therapy. I believe that people begin to heal the moment they feel heard. While I do incorporate interventions like CBT, EMDR, IFS, and distress tolerance, my first and foremost focus is to be unconditionally on your team and on your side. Past clients have told me that I am a natural listener and am genuine and warm in how I relate to people. When I am not obsessing over the personality psychology phenomenon known as the enneagram, I enjoy laying in the sun with a good podcast, jogging the Atlanta beltline, reading, cooking, yoga, and exploring the local food scene.
I operate from a systems approach, and utilize narrative, solution-focused, and collaborative perspectives in the therapy room. My work is client-centered, and I strongly believe in meeting the client where they are and providing unconditional support during every step of their journey.
I have been counseling clients for over 25 years, helping people from all walks of life to overcome barriers to living a healthier and happier life. I have especially enjoyed working with college students who may struggle with increased levels of stress, anxiety or depression or have difficulty feeling comfortable and supported in this new environment. Whether you are struggling with addiction issues, depression, anxiety, anger, sexual identity issues, relationship issues, feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, or seeking a deeper sense of purpose and meaning, we can work together to find solutions. Life can be full of pain and struggle, but it is also full of beauty and inspiration. If you have become overwhelmed by the struggle, let's begin today to lighten your burden. I offer a safe, non-judgmental place for you to share your challenges and deepest needs. I believe you have the ability to succeed and thrive when given the right tools and support. I can help you manage overwhelming emotions more effectively, to recognize and change self-defeating patterns of thinking and behaving and to heal from past traumas. In a world that can be very isolating, we all need a place where we can feel deeply heard and understood. I have such gratitude for the help and support I received along the way in my own therapy to overcome challenges and become the best version of myself. I would love to give you this same gift and would consider it a privilege to share in your journey.

I graduated with my PhD from the University of Georgia and completed both my internship and fellowship with the Emory University School of Medicine. I have extensive experience working with young adults of diverse backgrounds, in particular young professional women. I am a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and strive to provide a safe and compassionate environment for my clients. I am committed to helping clients connect with the best version of themselves by focusing on gaining deeper insight and acceptance in the face of adversity. I believe in taking a holistic approach when it comes to mental health. I have been trained in EMDR, which can be used to target a wide range of issues. I believe the past is present, which is why I focus on addressing the root issue since unhealthy behaviors/beliefs are often developed as a method of coping with something too painful or overwhelming. Additionally I love incorporating mindfulness and somatic psychotherapy to help clients attain greater mind and body congruence. The nervous system doesn't use words, so that means you simply can't "talk" your way out of certain emotions or core beliefs. That's where both of those modalities can help bridge the gap between the thinking brain and the feeling brain. Outside of private practice, I have worked as a clinician in crisis stabilization, residential treatment for survivors of sex trafficking, and an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility. You don't need to hurt alone. We can't undo the past, but we can work towards healing so you can start being present for the people and things you love most in life.

Not unlike many within this field, my own experiences with mental health influenced my decision to become a therapist. Through my own struggles in my young life, I found a passion for hearing other people’s experiences and empowering others to identify and utilize their strengths in moments of hardship. A couple of areas I specialize in navigating are: Ideas of perfectionism Developing self-compassion Exploring one’s cultural identity Coping with and understanding feeling “not good enough" Overcoming the stress of living up to expectations (cultural, intrapersonal, societal, parental) Setting boundaries Feeling torn between two or more cultures Feelings of shame, worry, or guilt I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and I have a particular skill in working with people of color, first and second-generation immigrants, and folks new to therapy. Additionally, I deeply understand, honor, and respect the South Asian and Middle Eastern religions and cultures.
