I enjoy working with client's of all ages. I work hard to get to know each of my clients and then create interventions and goals that fit them individually. I believe that you are the author of your own story, and I am just there to help you re-write chapters and create new ones. I enjoy working with young people who want more for their lives but aren't sure how to get there. I am passionate about decreasing stigma around therapy, changing people’s experience of of therapy, or maybe what they believe therapy is like. The name of my practice, Rebel Well, represents peoples need to be a little rebellious at times, challenge the norms, challenge the voices in their heads that keep them from thriving. A little rebellion can be a good thing. My biggest belief in this work is you are not the problem, the problem is the problem. I want to support each person holistically, and that can mean different things to different people. I practice from a client centered approach meaning that I use each client’s individual presentation to create a plan, interventions, and goals.

My practice was an oddity before COVID. Now it just makes sense. I meet most of my clients outdoors, on the hiking trails of the Berkeley and Oakland Redwoods. I of course also work with people online, too, but prefer to at least meet once or twice a month in-person: webcams are quite convenient, but still a 2D version of ourselves; it's definitely not ideal for the sort of conversational depth & breadth that we may embark on together. Put more plainly: Talking about the most stressful, anxiety producing, depressing, &/or shame-inducing stuff is best done in person, not online. Take a look at my website to get more of a feel for whether my practice may be a fit for you, and of course, don't hesitate to send an email or txt msg if you have questions: 415.823.1760
I love working collaboratively with my clients to find a plan for mental wellness that is tailored to the individual. Each case presents a unique set of circumstances that cannot be fit into a one size fits all approach. While my primary area of expertise is on medication management, I do incorporate some holistic practices into my treatment plans. In addition to medication management, I use CBT, DBT, and Family Systems Therapy in my therapeutic approach. I typically work with clients with an array of mental health concerns ranging from depression and anxiety to bipolar disorders and schizophrenia. I have additional training in perinatal mental health and enjoy working with birthing persons in planning for pregnancy as well as managing mood symptoms during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.

I became a therapist because I understand that everyone needs and deserves a safe and trusting space to process the human experience, be it the challenges and transitions, concerns and worries, relationships with self and others, or ever-changing emotions and thoughts that can make navigating life difficult, confusing, or overwhelming. I believe that each individual experience is unique, while also understanding that no one should feel alone or that what they feel or need is wrong, abnormal, or cannot be validated. I work with my clients to help them feel empowered and capable of making decisions to live a most fulfilling life, as well as able to handle stressors and meeting their needs. I have experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds and am well-versed in providing treatment for folx who are neurodiverse or within the BIPOC, gender diverse, and LGBTQIA+ communities. I provide services for people dealing with anxiety, depression, AD/HD, personality disorders, substance abuse/dependence, eating disorders and body image issues, attachment and adjustment disorders, relationship challenges, emotional disturbance and/or trauma, and behavioral challenges. I have additional training in sex therapy and provide treatment for couples and those in polyamorous relationships. I practice from a psychodynamic, client-centered, and holistic approach with an unbiased perspective. My treatment modalities have included solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, ecopsychology, and existential psychotherapy. I strive to build honest, lasting relationships with my clients so that together we can consider and process the multiple factors that contribute to one’s mental health and life choices, as well as uncover the underlying fears that can impact our feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. I further highlight the mind and body connection, exploring the relationship between our physical and emotional or mental selves and how they work together, as well as what role and impact our spirituality (however it is expressed or manifested) plays within our conceptualization of life.

I believe that we all have the capacity to heal. Circumstances, isolation, trauma, stress, and life challenges can all blur this inner knowing from view. Through a holistic lens that recognizes the importance of the mind-body-soul connection, I can assist you in uncovering and working through patterns, thoughts, and experiences that are no longer serving you while re-awakening joy, connection, curiosity, and ease. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for reflection, change, and growth. It is my honor to hold space for healing and self-discovery to unfold. My style is warm, compassionate, attuned, and a little irreverent at times. As a queer, mixed, woman, I understand that therapy is a political act. The personal, social, cultural, and political forces that contribute to and constrain your well-being are all of concern in the therapy room. Originally from the East Coast, I earned my master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Before going into private practice, I worked in school and community mental health settings where I collaborated with clients from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds navigating depression, anxiety, self-harm, and substance use. I am trained in EMDR, Relational Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and certified as a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. As someone who has sat on the therapy couch myself, I understand the vulnerability and courage it takes to reach out. Do you feel on edge, stuck in your head, or like you can’t fully connect with the people you care about? Maybe your chest tightens in conflict, or you shut down when things get too overwhelming. These are signs your nervous system is in overdrive—and it’s not your fault. Through integrative somatic and creative therapies, I’ll help you tune into your body, calm your system, and feel safer in yourself and your relationships.
Are you someone whose checked many of the boxes in life but have found yourself in a less than ideal relationship? One day it’s all good, and the next day it’s all bad. You feel alone, isolated…like you can’t talk to anyone about what’s going on. You might feel embarrassed or what’s happening might just feel indescribable? You wish you could talk to your partner about it, but his mood is so unpredictable, you’re not sure if that’s even safe. Not to mention, sharing your experience with family or friends could mean having to face their judgment and receive unhelpful advice to "just leave." I specialize in supporting Black women who are struggling with communication and self-doubt in their intimate relationship. You’ll learn to be more assertive, set boundaries and increase confidence. My style is anti-therapist-y. Like talking to one of the girls but with a certain set of skills. Progressive and safe with a sprinkle of woo. You deserve to be supported by someone who’s “been there, done that” and can create a safe space for you to speak freely, learn to show up as your full self and have the peaceful relationship you want and deserve! Visit my website to schedule a free 15-minute call and let's find out if we're a good fit to get started.
My treatment focus is on neurodivergent issues and gifted learners. Therapeutic style is evidenced and strength based, multiculturally sensitive, solutions oriented, client centered, and collaborative. You are the expert on you. My role is to facilitate and support an awareness of how to implement changes to overcome unhelpful patterns in thinking and decision making. I strive to see the whole person not just a list of symptoms. Understanding your unique background is key because therapy is not a cookie-cutter approach. Currently in network with Aetna, Kaiser Permanente, Lyra Health, SpringHealth, Sutter EAP, and Cigna in certain states. I am a LMFT in California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and Virginia, LPCC in California, and Registered Out-of-State Telehealth Provider for Florida, South Carolina and Vermont.
Great to meet you! As a trauma-informed therapist, I'm passionate about helping people navigate the deep impacts of trauma, anxiety, and depression. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to carry the weight of painful experiences while trying to function in daily life. I believe healing happens not by "fixing" people, but by reconnecting you with your inner strength and resilience. Whether you're struggling with persistent anxiety, feelings of sadness, or the lasting effects of trauma, I will tailor each session to your unique needs and pace.
I am a board-certified Adult, Child, Adolescent, Psychiatrist focusing on neurodivergence, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, and depression. I use a holistic approach when working with patients and work closely with therapists. By collaborating with patients and families, I incorporate therapeutic strategies to complement medication management. I earned a BA in Molecular Biology at Princeton University before attending medical school at Tulane University. I went on to complete my psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Louisiana State University New Orleans. Before moving to Los Angeles, I was a faculty member at Louisiana State University where I served as the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training director.
I work frequently with young adults as they manage increasing independence, college and work. I understand the challenges involved with balancing academic requirements, personal stressors and self care. Additionally, I am experienced in helping clients who are wanting to change their relationship patterns and behaviors, and those struggling to find effective ways to deal with symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and codependency. As a clinical psychologist, I assist my clients in meeting their goals and improving their relationships. Therapy is used to improve communication, coping skills and problem solving. One of my areas of expertise is in helping clients who are working through a particularly challenging time in their lives, and having difficulty moving forward from their experience. By encouraging self expression, increased insight and problem solving in therapy, I work collaboratively with clients to facilitate positive changes. Improving self esteem through greater understanding and acceptance of oneself is part of that work.
Hi, and welcome! My name is Katelyn, I am a therapist with a background working in university counseling centers. I enjoy supporting students, through the unique challenges of college life. Now in private practice with CoCal Counseling, I continue to help students navigate stress, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions through online sessions. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can gain insight, build resilience, and find strategies to thrive both academically and personally. Let’s work together to help you feel more confident, connected, and grounded. You don’t have to navigate this season of your life alone.
Let’s be real. Therapy isn’t just for when everything’s falling apart, it’s for when you’re tired of pretending you’re fine. I work with students who overthink, feel all over the place, or feel disconnected from themselves. We cut through the noise and get to what’s actually going on, using tools like CBT and a grounded, real-talk approach. I specialize in supporting first-gen and international students navigating culture shifts, identity questions, and the pressure to keep it all together. You don’t have to do it alone, and yes, we’ll probably laugh along the way.
I specialize working with gender and sexuality, anyone struggling through life transitions and change, folks who identify as highly sensitive people. I also focus on using self compassion techniques and perspectives and provide trauma informed, social justice/feminist oriented, and culturally attuned care. I fully enjoy both of us benefiting from building a meaningful relationship together, because I see it as an honor to be a part of your journey towards self actualization and well-being. I’m personable, transparent, enjoy humor, connection and appreciate depth. I'd honestly love to hear from you!
