There are many things that can lead a person to seek therapy. You may be experiencing a persistent feeling of fear but just can't put your finger on where it’s coming from. Perhaps you've been feeling anxious about being judged harshly by others or have been struggling with feelings of emptiness, loneliness, or loss of control. Bearing the weight of these experiences can often feel exhausting. But, you do not have to be alone in these struggles. Taking the first step to seek help can feel vulnerable and even scary. I believe that when the right conditions are present healing of the heart, mind, body, and soul can – and will – occur. Reach out today.

I provide both English and Mandarin virtual psychotherapy to individuals and families. My approaches include CBT, DBT, EMDR, IFS and MI, and I adapt the approach that resonates with my clients; my practice also focuses on our automatic thoughts, behaviors, and feelings, as well as exploring cultural identity, navigating cultural dilemmas, and releasing intergenerational tension. Welcome — I'm so glad you're here. You are so not alone in what you're carrying and you don't have to have it all figured out to move forward; this is exactly where we start. Being in college can be a huge adjustment, one that often comes with anxiety, loneliness, major academic pressure, and figuring out how to build authentic community. Whether you're navigating academic pressure, relationships, family stress, sexuality, gender exploration, or just the uncertainty of what comes next, I want to be in that space with you. Together we'll find insight using creative expression, mind-body connection, and shedding the internalized ideas of who we think we’re supposed to be. This is a place where everything is process over product and where we are actively seeking the imperfect. My approach is rooted in deep empathy, expressive arts, somatic practices, social justice lenses, and whole-person centered frameworks. I specialize in working with identity exploration, neurodiversity, queer folks, as well as young adults navigating the internal and external complexities of college life. We will start our work together with meeting right where you are and will walk together the rest of the way. My goal is to help you find more empowered, centered, and become more connected to yourself and others. Through our time together, however long that might be, my hope is that you're able to explore the many wonderful, scary, and magical layers that we hold. You can find me in my virtual office space or in-person at my Hayes Valley office. When I’m not sitting in the therapist chair, I’m usually guiding expressive arts workshops, working with queer & trans youth, reading multiple books at one time, out enjoying nature, or spending lots of time adventuring. I hope we get to meet soon! "I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become." - Carl Jung

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Tennessee and California, and I provide therapy virtually to students in both states. I work with people who are dealing with things like stress, difficult transitions and circumstances, traumatic events, relationship problems, grief, discrimination, and systemic marginalization. I specialize in working with people seeking recovery from the abuse they experienced in their families, intimate relationships, workplaces, religious and faith communities, and also survivors of cults and other high-demand/control groups. Additionally, I work with those who are living with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, suicide risk, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I also specialize in working with people seeking recovery from substance use, and I welcome clients who are active substance users. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to create a safe, affirming space for the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, disabled individuals, and other marginalized groups. Being a military spouse myself, I am honored to work with active military members, their families, and veterans. Feel free to check out my website to learn more about my experience and specialties. Those who work with me can expect to experience a safe and supportive space. My approach is very down-to-earth, and I aim to use research-backed therapy interventions in a way that’s accessible and helpful. I believe no two people need the same approach. There is no universal formula for creating positive change. Your path is your own. The job of a counselor is to help you find your footing and support you on your unique journey. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. Please reach out to get that scheduled, or if you have any questions you’d like to ask first.
You find yourself overwhelmed and unable to do anything, even though you know what you should be doing. Your thoughts are causing you to spiral and you find yourself remembering every bad thing that's ever happened to you. What I want to do is bring you back to the present moment and find the way forward to give you the future you are wanting. Whether that is coping skills to help you relax, or changing your perspective to better deal with what's going on, we will find a way to help you out.
I'm an EMDR-trained therapist specializing in complex PTSD and relational trauma – the kind that rewires how we love and how we see ourselves. I help young adults and couples heal from attachment wounds, abandonment issues, sexual trauma, infidelity, and anxious-avoidant relationship cycles. I work from a psychodynamic and trauma-informed lens, drawing from IFS, DBT, and ACT. Therapy with me is collaborative – together, we’ll process what’s beneath the surface to shift the core beliefs keeping you stuck. I’ll meet you where you are… and push you when you’re ready. This is a space where you don’t have to perform. If something here resonated with you, that probably isn’t a coincidence. Reach out to schedule a free consult. :)
Are you Autistic and/or ADHD and struggling in a world not designed for your neurotype? Or do you suspect that you may be Autistic and/or ADHD and want to work with a down-to-earth neurodivergent psychologist to find out? Are you looking for a therapist who gets the struggle? I offer collaborative and neurodiversity-affirming assessment and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored to the needs of Autistic and ADHD clients. Assessment may help you better understand yourself or your child. DBT may help you understand and manage your thoughts, feelings, and behavior to align with your goals. I offer DBT (group-only or comprehensive DBT) tailored to the needs of Autistic clients, and am currently co-authoring a manual for Guilford Press on tailoring DBT for the needs of Autistic clients.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with experience in telehealth care. As a registered nurse, I worked inpatient psychiatric adolescent and child units. I also have experience as a school nurse for the special education division. Mental health tends to have a stigma attached to it. What inspires me is the people I encounter who are brave enough to be honest and open with me about their mental health struggles. I like to reciprocate the same energy they’re bringing to our meetings and look forward to helping them reach their own mental health goals. I use a lot of open-ended questions and encourage my patients to be active in their care. I am here for support and provide expertise in areas where I can. At the end of the day, I prioritize the patient’s confidence and comfortability with the treatment plan. All psychiatry providers at Foresight have specialized experience in treating a wide range of common mental health conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, and PTSD. In addition, I specialize in the following areas: academic stress, deprescribing, holistic approaches to psychiatry, autism spectrum disorder, first responders, grief, women’s issues (PMDD, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, etc.)

My academic study of transpersonal psychology and my own personal healing journey introduced me to therapists who inspired me to follow in their footsteps. Our partnership thrives on clear communication. I prioritize active listening and regular check-ins to ensure you feel understood and satisfied at every stage of our work. I work with clients to build trust and therapeutic alliance through supportive non-judgment, genuineness, and teamwork.
We are more disconnected than ever - from our communities, our purpose, our families, our partners, and our selves. The work of connection happens within you, and it ripples outward, nourishing connectivity and meaning in the parts of your life that really matter. It's a radical act to invest in connecting, and to invest in your relationship with yourself. As a therapist, I am warm, curious, and non judgmental. I am interested in challenging you gently (or not gently if that's what you'd prefer), exploring different perspectives, and supporting you in zooming out and tuning in. My approach is deeply compassionate, sometimes whimsical, and tailored to your needs and goals. Let's dive in! I would love to connect and to see if we are good fit. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a free introductory consultation. My practice is through the Center for Mindful Psychotherapy and I am supervised by Margaret Goodwin, LMFT 103426.

You and your life isn’t one note. You are multifaceted and the demands you face happen to be as well – particularly when you are a student. Currently, the sound-track of your life has moved away from the sounds of a harmonious symphony -or maybe from an upbeat pop song- to something more unnerving and stressful (like the alarm you use to wake up to in the morning or the background music in a horror film—building tension, bracing yourself from some known or unknown threat). It makes sense that life has been overwhelming -increased responsibilities and life demands alone would contribute to this feeling. Add fears about the future, a recent breakup, challenging relationship dynamics with family, and/or other stressors and you might find yourself tipping the scales of your emotional bandwidth. I help students focus on the unique aspects of their lives that are no longer serving them – with empathy, tools, problem-solving, and emotional healing and growth. I believe you can have a richer and higher-quality of life– free from the overwhelming influence of your current life demands, harmful past experiences, poor modeling, and environmental toxicities (psychological).
