Suzanne Comelo LMFT
I have my own private practice serving the East Bay (in person) and California-Wide via Telehealth. I work with a lot of college students from the Bay Area who are away at college, or students traveling to the Bay Area for college. I am in network via CIGNA, Aetna and Optum, and have some sliding scale timeslots open for students who need to use private-pay for sessions. I also offer SuperBills/Invoices to clients who seek to get Out of Network Reimbursement from their insurance providers for their fees paid up front.
I have experience working with teens and young adults, those in college and graduate school, and adults returning to school later in life. I support clients with a variety of challenges, including anxiety (general, social, phobias, panic attacks), perfectionism, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship conflict, identity formation, self-esteem, family dynamics, work and school stress, and helping people with the normal, genetic trait of Sensory Processing Sensitivity (HSPs or Highly Sensitive Persons) learn to better regulate their nervous system responses. I have a client-centered, relational approach and am known for my genuine, down to earth, judgment-free, and empathetic presence.
I have an integrsted approach, including
psychodynamic (attachment), humanistic and cognitive and behavioral perspectives and I draw from various interventions to meet each client’s unique needs (ex: attachmentvand depth work, CBT, ERP, ACT, mindfulness, solution-focused, family systems, trauma-informed, narrative, and play therapies).
