Sonia McCain, LLCSW (she/her), brings over 10 years of experience in social work, with a broad background in case management, therapy, and crisis intervention. Throughout her career, Sonia has had the privilege of working with a diverse client base, including adults and children facing mental illness, substance use, and developmental delays. She has honed a versatile skill set that allows her to meet the unique and varied needs of each individual she works with, utilizing a compassionate, person-centered approach.
Sonia specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing; along with evidence based practices that empower individuals to manage symptoms, shift unhelpful thought patterns,and build intrinsic motivation for meaningful change. Her approach is collaborative and flexible, adapting to the unique needs of each client to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. She works with clients to help them better understand their challenges, develop coping skills, and build resilience to improve overall well-being.
In addition to her work with mental health and substance use concerns, Sonia supports first responders and helping professionals navigating the unique emotional demands and stressors of their work. She also assists clients experiencing complex family dynamics, trauma, and relationship stressors. Whether clients are dealing with acute crises or everyday overwhelm, Sonia’s goal is to help them regain control and move toward a life of balance, growth, and fulfillment.
