High-functioning depression and trauma often show up as anxiety and a constant effort to avoid pain or to fill an inner emptiness. When these attempt to hold it together are met with understanding rather than pressure to be fixed, healing and change can begin to unfold. There are many ways to cope with distress and manage emotions and relationship difficulties, but to truly come to terms with experiences that once evoked shame, guilt, anger, fear, a deep sense of aloneness, or the pain of being othered or dismissed, there needs to be a safe space to talk and process what has been carried internally for far too long.
I will hold a safe space for you to be vulnerable, and your feelings will never be labeled as too much. We will approach your thoughts, emotions, and memories with openness and compassion, at your own pace. I will help you explore and process your experiences, making sense of what feels stuck or confusing, and work toward a stronger, grounded sense of self.
